I think he is a great 2nd shooting guard. Not good on defense, but excellent outside shooting specialist.

he'd be a good guy to sign for the minimum.

next year:

Stoudamire, Dickau
DA, Person
SAR, Miles
Randolph, SAR
Ratliff, Davis

I think that's a really crappy group of players, but oh well...

He did not say he would.. but would pursue look at doing it... He said he can not say a lot about it because he is the property of the Atlanta Hawks and would be considered tampering

I was happy to hear it.. he hated to see him go

but...

Wes shoudl be signed for little $... he is a player I have touted as a Steve Kerr type of role player... and not commit a lot of salary too.. maybe $1-3 mil

I'm with Trader Bob on this one.

Also, as was noted, Nash did not say that he would sign Person this summer. He said that Atlanta picked up Person because of his expiring contract and that both Sheed and Person would not be with Atlanta next year. Nash indicated that he would be interested in reacquiring Person, but that because of league rules he couldn't talk about anything as long as Person is a Hawk.

I wonder if there is some way to encourage posters to be more accurate in reporting info??? Perhaps a big CAUTION sign next to Titles by those who haven't been particularly accurate in the past??

Barry's looking for - and will probably get - a multi-year contract. Portland seems content on letting everyone walk in 2005 and trying to play free agent roulette.

Signing Barry to a multi-year deal doesn't appear to fit in the Blazers' plans. Signing Person to a minimum contract ($1.1 million) for one year does fit.

Person for the minimum? Heck, yeah. He's a nice guy who's willing to play a role and he can really shoot the ball.

Person for the MLE? No, thanks. He's turning 33 in March and he's a one-trick pony.

Bones would be a great get, but I agree that his price tag will be considerably higher than Person's.

The wise one has spoken.

Vet minimum--absolutely. MLE? Not a chance. There will be bigger fish in the pond. :D
