Why is Walton on the list? Those numbers average out to 1 point, 3 rebounds, and almost 3 assists a game....what's so special about that? Walton makes some nice passes, but I don't think he will ever become a good player.

Yeah I dont know what's special except those arent bad numbers considering he played only 13 MPG

Edit: 1.3 PPG, 4.0 RPG, 3.7 APG in 17.3 MPG

How can you be dissapointed by Walton? He isnt going to play much on a deep Lakers team. When he gets in he isnt going to be play with Kobe, Shaq, Payton, and Malone. Prob only 1 or 2 of them. For a rookie who doesnt need to score to contribute thats pretty good. Not to mention at the start of the season when Jackson put Walton in during the end of a few close games to get some ball movement. If you know anything about Jackson, you know he doesnt play rookies, especialy not in the end of close games.

Im not saying he is a standout rookie, but he is doing exactly when Phil wanted when they drafted him. He is executing the triangle offense and making smart plays.

I don't think anyone expects Walton to be a great player but there is no reason why he can become a solid to good player. He fits the system wel.

So far, Cook has been a pleasant surprise while Walton has shown he can contribute in our offensive system.
