Knicks, Rangers bolt FAN

The Knicks and Rangers are headed for a new radio home.
Now in their 16th year on WFAN, both teams will move to ESPN-1050 next season.

The deal, between ESPN-1050 and the MSG teams, which was made official yesterday, was not surprising. The Daily News reported last month that WFAN brass was considering dumping both teams.

The Knicks' and Rangers' move to ESPN-1050 could open a huge door of opportunity for either the Devils (WABC-AM), Nets (WOR-AM) or Islanders (ESPN-1050).

All three teams' radio deals expire following this season. A deal with FAN would instantly provide these teams with a shot of major radio exposure they don't currently enjoy.
Wouldn't matter much to me. I get good reception of both WFAN and 710, but not so good reception of 1050. I guess WFAN could have some Nets ticket giveaways and such. Must be heart-breaking for Knick schills, Francessa and Russo.
