Dont you think there should be a tournament style to the slam dunk contest?

Take 1 player(or even two for a possible same team matchup)

from each team and make a tounrament of it? I know anything owuld be better than the wheel.

That would be a fun thing to watch but it would never happen because it would take hours to do. But i agree that last years format was a disgrace.

I'd take some different guys...

like

Boston: McCarty

Indiana: Bender

Portand: Daniels

Denver: Harvey

Philly: Bell

New Jersey: Jefferson (more flash than Martin)

ERob, Stoudamire, MaGette and Stevenson are great calls, though. Fred Jones as well, even though he stunk up the college one.

GO WALTAH, GO WALTAH, I SAID GO GO GO...

For real I'd rather see him then Pierce.

I wanna see some young guys, and not many PF can dunk it good, I'd rather have SF and SG, maybe some PG, but SF and SG the most.
Maybe the top 14 jamers?
Like the Clips would be loaded with them.
Remember what Kobe said last year? He said that he was too old for that!

Who did I list that can't dunk well. Did you see the HS dunk contest? Amare Stoudamire didn't win because he missed two dunks in the Final round, but he was spectacular.

I forgot about K. Brown, I heard that he did a dunk like Carters in the 2000 Slam Dunk Competition, and that he was surrprised himself.

One thing I have to say is, you can't over do it. What I mean, is you can't have like 30 guys doing dunks, because there's only so much people can do, and it would wear out the novelty.

Truth is, if they can't get 10 people to do the contest, like back in the day, then they shouldn't run the contest. Simple as that.

There's a lot of guys in the league who can really dunk good, who aren't big names, I don't know why they don't really go after those type of players.

I like the way they are starting to get the sophmores and rookies for the dunk contest now... It gives you a chance to see them in action a little bit more and for the teams you dont get to see on tv it lets you know if thier rookies have potential. I know you cant judge talent on a dunk but I didnt know about richarson until I saw the dink contest and after that I kept an eye on him. (the rooki game helped too.) Besides if big names did it every year T-mac and Vince Carter wouldnt be able to build a big enough trophy room!
