to win back to back games against teams that are at least 25 games above .500 (fact courtesy of ESPN) That is pretty damn sweet. Giving the nets major props on Sportscenter.

I'm liking the coverage they gave us.. but is it Stu Scott or just an ESPN thing to focus on Vince? I just think this is an effort that you can't put the spotlight on one guy. Kidd's magic, RJ's consistency, Krstic's improvement, Collins' stellar D, nightly bench contributions from Cliffy, Vaughn, Z, Wright, Murray, and whoever gets in. L Frank was right that we're more than the Big Three because were all the Nets.

as the super star player of the team (even though this will always be Jason Kidd's team and Richard Jefferson is one of our most underrated players), Vince Carter has grown to be the one player to take responsibility for any loss (see atlanta hawks thread) but also the one who takes the majority of the credit in the victory. Many teams have similar situations like this, and is mostly a result of the media.
Woot!! Interesting Fact!
That's impressive!

On NBA Fastbreak lastnight the focus was on Amare and how bad his knee was. They gave some love to the Nets, but it felt tainted with all the Amare knee talk. They even broke out footage of him practicing.
of course it is wrong as San Antonio did it in 2002.....beat Lakers and Dallas I believe were the teams then. But ESPN did report that it had been 25 years last night I saw it too. But they were wrong. But that doesn't make it any less impressive though.

Leave it to the ESPN fact checkers to get it wrong.

But did the Spurs rout the Mavs in the 2nd game?
Ya sure bthe teams were 25 games over .500 at the time? That could be the 'out' they used for that stat.
I wonder how many times a team even had a chance of doing this. It's got to be kind of rare
Actually first team in 4 years to win games over teams who were at least 25 game over .500.
I wish people were still not giving them any props.

Back to back tho? Their wording was pretty specific on ESPN.

I read this wrong. Pay no attention. I need more sleep.

yes back to back.
Here are the correct stats from espn.com:

The Nets became the first NBA team in four years to win on consecutive days against opponents who were at least 25 games above the .500 mark. The last to do so was the Spurs, with victories over the Lakers and Mavericks in March 2002.
//////////////////1st game 2nd game
March '06: Nets Det, +42 Phx, +26
March '02: Spurs LAL, +28 Dal, +27
April '00: Nuggets Utah, +28 Port, +37
April '95: Suns Sea, +32 SA, +37
Since the NBA-ABA merger ('76-77)

Thats still pretty impressive
For once the incorrect stats were in our favor. Weird.
