Miami Herald

The Heat contacted the representative for free agent point guard Travis Best,an indication Miami is not banking on the return of Rod Strickland. The 29-year-old Best, coming off a four-year,$13 million deal, averaged 7.9 points and 4.4 assists last season playing mostly as a reserve with Indiana and Chicago.Conversations between the sides are expected to continue this week.

The Heat continues to be among those in frequent contact with Lakers free agent forward Devean George, who is expected to decide on his destination soon after signings are permitted starting July 16.

Yes, I read that in the paper this morning. I am so happy for the heat, they are actually trying to get a PG who can help us. If we sign Best our team would be solid. Why stop at best? lets go for devean george too.

With Ellis we really DONT need George, does anyone think Riles is tryn to trade Ellis for George? We all know the Lakers DONT want to lose George,so would they take Ellis+exception for George?
