They can't spend the money on a starting PF, but they have a lot of tools (picks, trade exceptions, overseas players) to get what you are describing.

It's possible to do within the inevitable price restraints.

I wish I had a candidate in mind. Nocioni aint available. Anderson Varejao aint available, too.

Nocioni is like JYD but with a jumper.

The only problem is he gives a team a lot of things that Wright is supposed to provide.

Nocioni is a very good player. He's 1 of the better defenders the Bulls have & a good rebounder for his position. I know that Nocioni's rebounding #s are helped by fact the Bulls go w/ a really small lineup a lot but he is a good rebounder nonetheless.

There aren't many guys like Nocioni in the league that's why he befuddles the Nets. If we can't find a bigman or someone in the Nocioni mold via trade I think we'd do fine with adding a blue collar hustle guy through FA because that's one thing this class has a few of. Jumaine Jones was mentioned but I think Harpring would be great and Bonzi could fit the bill too but is still my longshot (thanks to the Malfoof's deep pockets). Tell me the bench wouldn't be kicked up a notch adding either of those 2 too. All 3 guys are utility guys and wouldn't necessarily mean time from Antoine or Zoran either depending on matchups each night and because they could play alongside of them in the second unit.

I feel that most of the Nets are too "nice" on the court. They hustle and defend, but still do it in a dignified way. Like Seanet said, Nocioni will grab, pull, bite and do whatever it takes to get the job done. The Nets definitely need someone like him on the team.

Different position, but Reggie Evans is this kind of player as well.

Evans and Noconi are two of the most dirtiest players in the league. Like both of them. They aren't athletic but they use their dirty antics to play physical with opponents. I would love to sign Evans this off season

At one point this season, Nocioni was hitting 50% of his three's. He is a great defender. Evans can't hit 50% of his one's. He is not a great defender.

It's not just about toughness. It's not just about being aggressive. It's about having some skills as well.

There's really like 3 types of defenders... good defenders, bad defenders and guys like Nocioni. Someone who can defend a guy into getting himself ejected.

Screw that. Kidd's 33, we don't have the time to wait for the kid to develop. Plus Jones will come cheap. For whatever reason, he seems to get the shaft come offseason.

My dream offseason:

Charlie Bell and Jumaine Jones (with the MLE)
Kelvin Cato (LLE)

Bingo, solid bench.
