Scott says lineup moves are auditions
"I don't mind coming off the bench. It's something I've done probably 99 percent of the time since I've been in the NBA. But I'm not trying to look at it as something different. I'm approaching it the way I do every game."
Hornets coach Byron Scott started Nachbar and David West at forward in place of Lee Nailon and P.J. Brown, and Speedy Claxton at point guard instead of Dan Dickau.
"I have no expectations from any of those guys," said Scott, admitting that the move was something of an audition. "I just want to see how they play as starters. How they play against front-line guys a little more. I want to see how they produce with starter's minutes.
RETIRE IT: Rookie J.R. Smith won the Western Conference Rookie of the Month award for the third straight time.
"He's got 2005 sewed up so far," Scott said. "Let's finish it off with April as well. He's starting to understand that to be a great player in this league, it takes hard work and dedication. It just doesn't happen."
