I will be going to Dayton next month. I am thinking of staying at the Travelodge Motel located at the airport. We prefer staying at the airport or close by. Is this a decent motel? We don't need a luxurious place, just a clean fairly modern place. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Try the Bates Motel, they made a movie about it.

Is this an overnight stay making use of a good airline connection or an extended stay? I'm not familiar with the Travel Lodge at the airport but I am familiar with the linked hotel which is just a 2 min drive from arrival-departure area of the airport. The linked airport hotel is simply an in close overnight type hotel...nothing fancy but a nice convenient clean hotel. For an extended stay I know I wouldn't be selecting your hotel choice or area. It's a safe enough area but another 10 min toward the city has much more to offer...these would be the hotels in the I-75 N - Poe Ave area see 2nd link.

There is only one Queen City and it isn't in Ohio.
That's right. Manchester. The one in New Hampshire. Everyone who's anyone knows this, including all the Presidential Wannabes. I hear some Podunk places to the south came along in the mid 1700's, a good half century late to the party, and copied it. But the cognescenti can easily distinguish the original from impostors.

New Rochelle, NY may have claim as the first Queen City.

17th century
New Rochelle's history begins with the purchase by Thomas Pell of the Pelham Manor tract, of which the city would become part, from the Siwanoy Indians in 1654.

In 1687 a purchase agreement was made between John Pell, nephew of Thomas Pell, and [[Jacob

In 1689, thousands of Huguenots - French Protestants who left France following the revocation by Louis XIV of the Edict of Nantes, which had protected them from religious persecution - began settling the area. Their new home was named after La Rochelle, the port from which they had departed France. There is a monument in Hudson Park which commemorates all the names of these Huguenot settlers.

Also in 1689, John Pell officially deeded the 6,100 acres (25 km²) of New Rochelle to Jacob Leisler. The Deed requires "as an Acknowledgment to the Lord of the said Manor one Fatt Calfe on every fouer and twentieth day of June yearly and every Year Forever (if demanded)."
