Odom re-injures sprained ankle during rehab
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Associated Press
LOS ANGELES -- Los Angeles Clippers forward Lamar Odom, slow to recover from an ankle injury last season, has hurt the ankle again during a rehab workout.

The 22-year-old Odom had a cast placed on his right ankle Monday, and he's expected to be unable to work out for up to 12 weeks.

He played in just 29 games last season. He first was sidelined by a wrist injury, then sprained his right ankle Feb. 14. He has been undergoing rehab for the ankle, but twisted it again during a recent workout.

Odom averaged 13.1 points and 7.5 rebounds during his limited appearances last season.

No breaks for Odom

Like I posted in the NBA forum....
This guy's career, is dangling in the ropes....
I really wish him the best, but I don't think you'll see him in the Clippers plans for the future,
Maggs will now have to step up again, this might actually be his breakout season...
more PT, more room for improvement for Maggs
This SUXXXXX :upset:  :upset:  :upset:

Wow this hurts bad. I hope we don't write his carear off just yet, as he still will be back in time for most of the season, and it doesn't seem like this was the big official press release, as they said he COULD be out for up to 12 weeks. Maybe he will recover quickly, or maybe I am just hoping that he will. Sigh.

little more info

http://www.nba.com/clippers/multimedia/Odom_Has_Ankle_ReCasted-52048-57.html

According to Clippers' orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Tony Daly, Odom twisted the ankle during a recent rehabilitative workout. Subsequent examination revealed a bone edema (an accumulation of fluid and swelling). At Daly's suggestion, Odom consulted with two foot and ankle specialists before settling on Monday's action.
The cast, which will include an electrical stimulation device to promote healing, will be removed in four weeks so that the ankle can be re-evaluated at that time.
