Matchups to Watch

James Posey and the Grizzlies meet Carmelo Anthony and the Nuggets for the third time this year.

Head Coach: Hubie Brown
<a class="sag" href="#top">Back to Top</a>

Notes
Memphis is riding an emotional high after victimizing Minnesota at the Target Center just 24 hours ago, chalking up a franchise-record 29 season wins. They'll play for Number 30 tonight on the road against the equally-impressive surprise Denver Nuggets. Pau Gasol went 11-14 from the field with 27 points against the Wolves, while Jason Williams put in a double-double with 11 points and 12 assists, while only committing one turnover. James Posey locked down Latrell Sprewell, holding the explosive swingman to just 4 points. The Grizz had six players in double-figures in winning their fourth straight game.

Injury Report
Mike Miller (back) will play. Troy Bell (sore left knee), Theron Smith (back spasms), and Ryan Humphrey (concussion) are on the injured list.

Notes
The Nuggets are coming off a disappointing thumping at the hands of the Sacramento Kings, 115-92, also last night. Rookie sensation Carmelo Anthony had 24 points, but the rest of his team was not able to pull it together defensively against a sharpshooting Sacramento squad. Starting PG Andre Miller (who had a double-double against Memphis last December) was held scoreless on just 0-4 shooting. Denver gave up 34 points in the final quarter.

Injury Report
Jeff Trepagnier (sprained left ankle) and Mark Pope (sore left knee) are on the injured list.

Looks for non-stop fast-breaking again against Denver. Andre Miller is coming off a terrible game, in which Denver could not stop the Kings from hitting outside shots. I think we should follow-up on that strategy -- if our shots are falling, then we should wind up winning this game, taking a five-game win streak into the All-Star Break.

Memphis had 64 points in the paint against Denver in the last meeting.

This is more important game than yesterday one.
I hope Posey can stop Melo.

Let's go Grizz

Pretty disappointing game. I haven't commented on it just because it was a little disheartening.

It was just...blah...the whole way through.

Let's have a better game against the Clips tonight before we get a well-deserved break.
