Matchups to Watch

Stromile Swift and the Grizz frontline will try to snatch away rebounds from Erick Dampier, who ranks 5th in the league with 10.9 per game.

</center>

Head Coach: Hubie Brown
<a class="sag" href="#top">Back to Top</a>

Notes
The Grizzlies escaped Staples last night with an overtime win after a missed Corey Maggette layup with two seconds on the clock. The win snapped their eight-game road losing streak and pushed them back to .500. This game is the final game of an expected six five game road trip lowlighted by cancelled games against Portland and Utah. This is the first meeting of the year for the two teams.

Injury Report
- Troy Bell (sore left knee), Theron Smith (back spasms), and Ryan Humphrey (concussion) are on the injured list.

Clubhouse
Box Score (1/11) - Memphis (108) LA Clippers (107)

Head Coach: Eric Musselman
<a class="sag" href="#top">Back to Top</a>

Notes
Golden State, before going on a seven game losing streak, posted wins over Sacramento and the Lakers. They recently ended that skid in overtime against Seattle. Erick Dampier is averaging nearly 11 rebounds per game and Cliff Robinson is playing some good basketball, putting in 28 against the Sonics. Eric Musselman also has the team playing good team defense, despite having very little depth in the middle behind Dampier.

Injury Report
- Troy Murphy (right ankle inflammation) is questionable.
- Evan Eschmeyer (knee surgery) and Adonal Foyle (knee surgery) are on the injured list.

I could easily see this one ending up very similar to Clippers game last night. It should be a good game. I always enjoy watching the Warriors because of Dampier and Dunleavy.

Fatigue shouldn't be an issue. The most minutes played last night was 38 by Lorenzen Wright.

If it is like the Clips game then the Grizz will lose cuz of one of the best clutch performers in the game Van Exel. But I think the Grizz will win. They just need to take care of buisnees at the start of the game.

We also need to take care of business at the end of the game, and in the second half in general.

Lost the game down the stretch to the Pacers. Blew a double digit lead against the Sonics in the third and we spent the rest of the game trying to get back. We let the Clips go on a 6-0 run in the final minutes to send the game to overtime. Those are the last three road games. We need to get a lead and hold it.

Our starters have actually been getting out to strong leads early during these last few games, but they've been letting the leads just melt away. This is the exact opposite of the beginning of the season, when we were having the slow starts and fighting our way back into the games.

We should start predicting who we think are going to win these games. You know, just to get the morals up and everything. I'll do the first honors.

Prediction:

Grizzlies 112- Warriors 101

I think we will win this game, but the Warriors will keep it a game throughout.

Good to see Miller play with some fire. 6-9 with a nice rebound in traffic. The defense is...uh...pretty bad, though.

And as I say that, Stro' just puts a monster block on Dampier.

That block was huge.

:gopray:

Please do not trade Stromile or let him walk. I honestly almost want Stro to get traded. He deserves to start either here or somewhere else.

Jason Williams once again shows that he's got ice-water in his veins. And Pau actually played solid defense.

Overtime again. I said it was going to be like the Clippers game.:grinning:

I went over to a friend's house to watch the end. I don't know why people weren't posting here -- this was a great game.

That fast break scared me to death. Posey was almost looking to foul Richardson when he was dunking that.

Very clutch performances by Battier (especially), Stro' (for that jumper at the top of the key), and JWill (for his defense on Van Exel). If it weren't for those three, I don't know where we would have been. That win was even bigger because we played practically the entire second overtime without Gasol and Wright.

Dampier is a mountain. I almost hope Shaq bows out of the All-Star Game so this man can get a berth. He's playing better ball than Yao.
