the officiating whining is BS. it just proves how little someone understands basketball if they bring up the free-throw margin. UW's strategy was to foul the UCONN bigs every time they touched the ball. Boone and Armstrong were at the line every single time they caught it on the block. Aggressive Defense leads to alot of fouls and alot of opposition turn overs- 2 things UCONN endured. All we talk about are the calls the refs missed for UW, but what about the ones they missed for UCONN? Rudy Gay was intentionally fouled in the first half, Marcus Williams was fouled on a clear path with no intentional called, Denham Brown was taken out after reaching for a ball on the floor late in the 2nd half that lead to a UW lay up. I watched the game two times and there is no legitimate gripe here other than the goaltend, something that came down to a fraction of inches to determine if it was on the way down. Bottom line is UConn is the new Duke so everyone wants to nit-pick them and pray that they lose. If UW won the game in regulation, not one single person would have said a word about officiating. Better team won, better team made plays, and all the UW fans really sound like a team that has never won anything before.
