Congrats to Coach/Dr John Giannini and his LaSalle Explorers as they won a huge game at home over #9 Butler. LaSalle was pretty high in the RPI as it was and now this will propel them even higher...could this be the year he gets them in the NCAA's? Students stormed the court as well.

Glad for him...good guy.

Very nice win by LaSalle. Butler is without its best player Rotnei Clarke who injured his neck against Dayton and is no way a #9 team without him- but still a team that should be able to beat LaSalle, so still an excellent win by the Explorers.

You do realize they just beat #8 Gonzaga the game before this right...and without Clarke? That Gonzaga team has whipped up on & beaten West Virginia, Clemson, Oklahoma, Wash State, Kansas State, Baylor, Davidson & OK State...their only non-conference loss was a close battle with #13 Illinois.

This win over Butler was huge, regardless.

Yeah, I know they did- but I still don't think Butler is the #9 team w/ out Clarke playing- that's all.

Still a great win for LaSalle, no question.

If only Dr G and LaSalle would have been able to beat Central Ct at home or Bucknell on the road earlier this season.

Between that and Burnatowski dropping 35 last night, it was a good night to be someone that bailed out of Orono when the getting was good.

Yep. CCSU has had an up and down year with a very young team, but they have an impressive win in Philly over LaSalle.

All five starters scored in double-figures as the Central Connecticut men's basketball team won its second straight game, 81-74, on the road at LaSalle on Sunday afternoon. With the victory Central improves to 2-2 on the season. LaSalle is 1-1.

Sophomore Adonis Burbage scored a career-high 21 points and hit 7-of-8 from the field, 5-of-6 from three, while grabbing five rebounds for the Blue Devils. Classmate Kyle Vinales added 23 points and three assists and a steal in 40 minutes of action.

Central was impressive from the field for the second straight game, shooting 48.4 percent (30-of-62) and hitting 14-of-16 from the free-throw line. They had 12 assists and turned the ball over just seven times in the game. They had eight steals as a team, including three each from sophomore Malcolm McMillan and junior Matt Hunter.

Central trailed 7-6, but an 11-0 run gave them a 17-9 lead with 16:04 on the clock. The second three of the game from Burbage forced LaSalle to call its second early timeout of the game. The Blue Devils made their first seven field goals and led 20-9.

Butler is my favorite basketball team by far. I love watching them. They might of lost this game, but I love their game. They bring in players who on paper are not even close to the big dog programs and create a program that can compete against anyone in the nation, it's remarkable. I have a feeling Brad Stevens is going to stay at Butler until Coach K retires and then apply for that position. The way he coaches it would seem like the only logical move up for him.

Brad & his family are very involved in a lot of things in Indianapolis...I'm not sure anything will lure him away. Remember, it is looking like they will end up in a conference with Marquette, Georgetown, Villanova, St. John's, Providence, Seton Hall, DePaul and a few others...that will be a major conference.

Anyway, back to Dr G and his LaSalle Explorers...looks like they have righted their ship. Few more wins and they will be back in the Big Dance! Good for him!
