OT: Funniest NBA-related smack you ever heard from a player/coach

I was just watching ESPN the other day and it got me thinking about the funniest smack I've ever heard. I think it was on classic. It got me wanting to ask others what funny smack they've heard, on or off the court, that maybe I haven't heard. Whether it be something you heard during a fight during a game that maybe the viewing audience wasn't supposed to hear, or something a player said during an interview. Mine of course is Scottie talking about Barkley wanting an apology for what happened in Houston.

"I'll never apologize to Charles. If anything he should apologize to me for not bringing his sorry fat butt out there ready to play."

My second and third moments were officials during the 1992 Finals.

Jordan fouled Ainge and as he's standing there talking to Jess Kersey he gets hit with a T and Jess walks by him and says:

"What you said was not a true statement, but you were talking about me. And I don't talk about you!"

And then Adelman and Buck Williams went apecrap on Jake O'Donell.

O'Donell: "52, technical foul. (Looking at Adelman) Tell him to keep his mouth shut!!"
Adelman (looking like he's about to blow a blood vessel): "You don't talk! Don't you talk either!"
Williams: "Yeah Jake, don't talk!!"

Then of course there is the world of smack that is MJ. MJ on being guarded by Reggie Miller:

"It's like being guarded by a girl."

MJ after hitting a free throw with his eyes closed on a dare with Motumbo:

"Welcome to the NBA."

I don't know if it's smack "talking" but I'll never forget MJ dunking on Mount Motumbo and just taking the technical that came with wagging his finger. Classic.

Then of course there was the smack talking between MJ and the glove in the finals. That was good stuff too.

(Man, a lot of these involve MJ.... lol)

I think "smack" can be an "expression" and doesn't always have to be verbal. Smack to me is a subset of "art" lol

Charles Barkley to a ref (one of the old-time guys, Kersey, I think):

"Jess, to get a technical, I have to actually say or do something, right?"

"Yes, Charles, that's right."

"You can't read minds, right? You can't give me a technical for thinking something, can you?"

"No, Charles, I can't."

"Well, I wanted you to know that I think you just made a total horse**** suckass ****ed-up call."

It hasn't happened yet, but it'd funny to hear a player say this after being called for a touch foul:
"Bruce Bowen is out here kicking people in the head, but I can't touch anybody?"

OT:

Interestingly enough, the SEC, a traditional football powerhouse, has really stepped up it's basketball programs. Evidenced especially this year by LSU & Florida being in the Final Four.
Charles Barkley (On Andre Iguodala scoring 30 points at the Rookie-Sophomore game) --

"He's just getting all that shooting out of his system before he goes back to work on Tuesday."
Chad Johnson... not for his celebrations. Here's one that VERY few people know of:

2001 Fiesta Bowl, Notre Dame v. Oregon State

All week long the ND media had played up the character of their players v. the lowly character of Dennis Erickson coached OSU. So Chad Johnson scored a TD to put Oregon State up 49-3 and he puts his hands on his head like he's being arrested and TJ Houshmandzadeh comes up and frisks him in the end zone like a cop. It was hilarious!!

Classic, and is one of the reasons I always loved to hate Sir Charles.

Agree. And directed to the announcers, not the opponent. As though the opponent weren't even there. And, when he was playing like that, they weren't.
