....The feeling around the (Laker) organization is swelling, again, that (Shaquille) O'Neal is more and more about his own agenda -- just as he delayed foot surgery in the summer of 2002, setting the team back the entire '02-03 season. It's particularly infuriating to Gary Payton, who is astonished that O'Neal has already missed nearly one-third of their games and leaving Payton as the lone leader on the court -- especially since O'Neal talked him into signing as a free agent with the Lakers. "Gary can't believe it," a source close to Payton told SportsLine.com. "Shaq talked him into signing with the Lakers this summer to win and now he's decided not to play until he wants to. He should have been back two games ago and everybody knows it. This is not a good thing."
