OK, so I saw that Utah State and Ryan Odom will be playing in the Veteran's Classic hosted by Navy and put that in the UMBC thread as I thought their fans may have some interest in that. Then, I noticed the Battle 4 Atlantic field and thought many people in here may find that interesting as well. Thus, I decided to start a thread where we could put some of the games/tournaments in here that were interesting that don't feature any of America East squads. Anyway, following is the field for the Battle 4 Atlantis (Nov 24-26):

Arizona State
Auburn
Baylor
UConn
Loyola
Michigan State
Syracuse
VCU

Baylor, the defending National Champion headlines a very strong field that also has a couple of "local" schools that many on here also follow: UConn and Syracuse. Also fun that the 2 Hurley's will both be there and that would be fun to watch their teams battle.

Just fyi, in case anyone will be up at 11:30 pm

#4 Villanova @ #2 UCLA

Remember last year when UCLA barely made the NCAA's and should have lost to Michigan State if it wasn't for their complete meltdown. Now, after their run to the Final Four, they are ranked extremely high. Should be a good game but pretty sure I won't be watching it live.

Very curious to watch this game as it’s a good early test ( I did take UCLA in my Vegas bets for this year). Though the team I really want ( probably a year or two away from competing at the highest levels) is UConn. Got some amazing odds with them this year. I did once win with them when they were 150-1.

Wow, lots of games tonight around the country. I know someone had said that pretty much everyone was playing a non-DI opponent this year. Well, there are 23 such match-ups tonight. Yes, 23 games on tap tonight that feature a DI school vs a non-DI. I'm sure there have been nights with that many before but I don't recall ever seeing that. That's a lot.

However, there are some interesting games:

Boston U @ Northeastern
Creighton @ Nebraska (FS1 - 7pm)
UNC-Wilmington @ Pitt (ACCN - 7pm; Capel needs to win this one bad)
Hofstra @ Iona
Virginia @ #15 Houston (ESPN - 8pm)
St Louis @ #11 Memphis
Seton Hall @ #4 Michigan (FS1 - 9pm)
BYU @ #12 Oregon (ESPN - 10pm)

Mason beats Maryland. Takes a little of the shine off the UVM near miss, although Mason has been pounding teams prior to this. Maybe they are better than expected.

Like beating Stony Brook by 22?

Also Northern Iowa currently up on #16 ranked Arkansas with three min left. Now that I doubled checked the spelling, Arkansas is up 6 with 1.5 min. lol.

Nice win by 57-49 home win by URI over BC last night. I love it when other New England schools beat the Eagles.

Rhody actually has a winning overall record over BC in the last 30 years. URI is 5-4 over that span versus the Eagles, including 3-2 all time at Conte. Only three games have been in Kingston (5 in Newton and 1 neutral at Mohegan Sun). Two of the nine games went to double OT with the Rams winning both. One of these was in the postseason NIT at Conte.

Thank you for this.
You're welcome and it's my pleasure. I love looking at the games of the day. Figure if I do, some on here might as well. Plus, some may have insights or comments about some of them and I like to see/read those as well.

Nov 19th...a lot of the same today with even more games during the afternoon hours. Today though, ESPNU and ESPN2 won't be televising all the games from the same locale like they did yesterday. ESPN2 will carry the match-ups of the teams that won yesterday.

ESPNU
Noon - Boise State 82 vs Temple 62 (Charleston, SC)
2:30 pm - Davidson 72 vs Penn 60 (Conway, SC)
5:00 pm - Liberty 50 vs Iona 54(Orlando, FL)
7:30 pm - East Carolina 73 vs Old Dominion 60 (Conway, SC)
10:00 pm - Wichita State 78 vs Arizona 82 OT (Las Vegas)

ESPN2
Noon - New Mexico State 58 vs Utah State 85 (Conway, SC)
2:30 pm - #22 St Bonaventure 68 vs Clemson 65 (Charleston, SC)
5:00 pm - Oklahoma 87 vs Indiana State 63 (Conway, SC)
7:00 pm - Marquette 82 vs West Virginia 71 (Charleston, SC)
Midnight - #4 Michigan 74 vs UNLV 61 (Las Vegas)

FS1
6:30 pm - Hofstra 67 @ #20 Maryland 69 - Terps got very, very lucky

FS2
6:30 pm - Siena 65 @ Georgetown 83

CBSSN (all games in St Petersburg, FL)

3:00 pm - UMass 93 vs UNC-Greensboro 90
5:30 pm - Ball State 74 vs Weber State 85

Evidently CBSSN doesn't want to carry the 8:00 pm game between Green Bay and Florida International

In addition, several other intriguing match-ups:

6:00 pm - Towson 59 @ Pittsburgh 63 - Panthers got very lucky
7:00 pm - George Mason 64 @ James Madison 67
9:00 pm - Bellarmine @ #1 Gonzaga - while this game really won't be a game or interesting, I wanted to point out their non-conference schedule because it is absolutely ridiculous. They opened at #7 Purdue, then went to Murray State...now they are out west where they lost at St Mary's and now play Gonzaga. After that, they will play #2 UCLA and eventually have a tilt at West Virginia. I mean, they are getting paid plus playing probably the best non-conference schedule of any team in the country.

College football doubleheader.
Makes sense...I assumed ESPN2 also has a football obligation from 9pm to midnight.

Man, I was ready to write off St Bonaventure but they have come roaring back! Helluva game with 6 1/2 mins to go and the Bonnies up 2 after their current 13-0 run!

Wow, that was such a great game. The Bonnies won 68-65 after being down by 16 at one point.

They will play the winner of Marquette/West Virginia on Sunday in the championship game of the Shriner's Children's Charleston Classic.

This is a gem of a tournament if you live within driving distance of Mohegan. Tickets are fairly reasonable for multiple games (especially if they go back to doing the "B" tournament as well...they pretty much give you those games for free). Plus, casino. Tournament is always this stacked, but usually has at least one fairly marquee team and the others are competitive.
