Did they win the game?

Whoa...take it easy buddy. Shareef hasn't exactly thrived in Sacramento so while he would've helped us it didn't turn out to be as bad as most people thought. We tried to get Wilcox...like for the last 2 years and they didn't want our crappy 1st rounders or any of our players so what could we do? I don't think we'll cut/release Cliff Robinson when he's been our most productive bench player this year especially when it wouldn't ensure that we'd magically sign Wilcox when he's a restricted free agent. I'd like to have him on our team but it's not likely with the way he's been playing.WSHERIDAN70 said:THIS IS MY FIRST POST HERE AND I AM A BIG NETS FAN. WE ARE MAKING MISTAKES WITH ADDING OUR POWER FORWARD.
1. WE SHOULD HAVE SIGNED SHAREEF
2. THE CLIPPERS WOULD HAVE GAVE US WILCOX. WE SHOULD HAVE GAVE UP ONE FIRST ROUNDER AND SOMEONE ELSE.
3. IF HE IS A FREE AGENT NEXT YEAR WE BETTER RELEASE MR. ROBINSON AND SIGN THIS GUY FOR 5-7 million. HE IS A BUDDING STAR NOW.
& from the Tacoma News Tribune (Frank Hughes):from Seattle Times said:When asked if he would favor a long-term or shorter contract, Wilcox said: "I think it would be better if I'd go short."
so we'll see....but the guy has a lot of confidence right now. Of course, the Blazers are pretty terrible, but still, it's nice to see him have an all around good game....career high in assists tonight w/ 6.Wilcox could sign a short-term contract – perhaps $17 million over two seasons – establish himself as a top-flight player over the next couple seasons and then attempt to really cash in once he becomes an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2008.
Well we might be able to get him with a S&T but this will require breaking up the team core.Charlie Brown said:The Nets missed the boat on making a hard push for Wilcox earlier in the season. He played his way out of the Nets budget.
The Nets have been trying to get Wilcox since the summer of 2004, after the departure of KMart. I dont understand all this speculation that there was a time when the Nets could have gotten him. They offered Kittles and a draft choice to get him in 2004. The Clippers said no. They offered the Clips their own first round draft choice plus a choice of players in 2005 and 2006. The Clippers said no. It has REPEATEDLY been reported that the Clippers didn't want anything the Nets had to offer. And I doubt even both first round picks would have freed him. They wanted a first line sub and got one in Radmanovic. The Nets could not match that offer.Charlie Brown said:The Nets missed the boat on making a hard push for Wilcox earlier in the season. I am familiar with what has been reported, but when you see the way Wilcox has been performing since being trade...you would like to think Rod Thorn could have pushed a little harder.NetIncome said:The Nets have been trying to get Wilcox since the summer of 2004, after the departure of KMart.
