Tough loss for the Aggies last night. Shulga and Bairstow had an off night. I continue to be impressed with how good Dan Akin has become. He only had seven points and fouled out last night but for the season he is shooting 64% from the floor and 70% from the line in the Mountain West, averaging 12.3/7.2 per game.

In 2019-20, Dan shot 39% from the line. Yes, he's in his sixth collegiate season (which is bananas) but he is a really solid front court player for them.

I actually feel they right now would be in the NCAA as an at Large, especially after beating Boise State and climbing them in the rankings for #2 seed in the conference tournament.

Interesting, last year 4 MW teams made the tournament but sadly all under performed.

Lunardi has Utah State as the first team out as of this morning. If they end up playing New Mexico (Net Ranking of 50) I wonder if that will be enough if they then lose to Boise.

Today bracketmatrix has them as an 11 seed and out of Dayton. Obviously nothing is guaranteed but that win over Boise may have been the difference in being on the right side of the bubble

I think if they beat New Mexico (if they win their first round game) then I think that might be enough for them to be solidly in the tournament. New Mexico is a top-50 NET Rating team so I think that's good enough.
