The fact that he's on UVM's roster would mean he'd need to go to a JUCO or D3 program right?? Because if he left UVM he'd have to sit... 2 years???

This is a strange situation.

Ok, we'll play out the hypothetical because...well, because it's what we do.

If he left UVM, surely he wouldn't be able to enroll in another D-1 school this semester (it's Feb. 1, everyone's semester has started by now, right?). So, he could just go home and enroll in a school over the summer/fall.

At that point, he would have to establish residency at that school, i.e. spend a year there. He would then be eligible in Fall 2012, with 3 years of eligibility. In theory, it'd be within his rights to petition for a "6th year" to play his 4th year of eligibility...but he'd have to prove that the reason he missed two years of basketball wasn't largely of his own making (which, it appears it's entirely his own making), so he'd almost certainly be denied.

That's if he wanted to stay in D-1. He'd be eligible at a D-2, D-3 or JUCO school starting next season. And I believe, if he were to go to a JUCO, he'd be able to play his freshman year and then potentially transfer (depending on academic course requirements, transferrable credits, etc.) to a D-1 school in Fall 2012 with 3 years of eligibility remaining.

So either way...if this is true...he's only going to get 3 years of D-1 basketball, max.

Stop the speculation. Keegan isn't going anywhere.
Do you know this for a fact or are you just speculating? I don't usually throw this kind of thing out there unless I can be reasonably certain in the accuracy of the info.

Like I said earlier, I'm not 100% certain but I'm a solid 95% that the info passed along to me is accurate.

The story will go one way or the other soon enough. My intent wasn't/isn't to besmirch UVM or Keegen btw, hopefully no one thinks that there was any malicious intent in what I posted.

Catcountry21 says that it is NOT true......thank god that this ugly rumor has been put to rest.
YES, thank god. It's amazing how easy it is to stir the pot......Just in, Kegan to transfer from Vermont to the University of North carolina in a straight up trade for Harrison Barnes.

I thought I heard he was transferring to College of Charleston, and an NCAA waiver would have him eligible for the Bracketbuster game.

No it's ok. You only get respect on this board if you have been posting for 3 years or so.
Not true, stop being melodramatic. I respect your opinion if you have something to add on this subject. Instead of making it out to be like I just made this stuff up to stir the pot. It's never been my style to make stuff up.

p.s. I know you tried sending me a pm, I cleared out my inbox you can send it now.

Listening to RadioRob on "The Rob & Rich Show" this afternoon. Caller asked about Hyland...Rob said he had no official news of any kind, but said he did see him in practice on Sunday. RadioRob can obviously correct me on that if I relayed that wrong.
