Peja wants to opt out his contract making him an unrestricted free agent this off season. How do you like our chances of nabbing him? We can't offer him but I think the idea of playing with one of the all time greats in Kidd, Carter, in a championship contending team (realistically), not to mention playing with the future of Serbian basketball in fellow countryman Krstic, gotta account for something. If he does join us, we'd be the number 1 perimeter team in the league. Defense...another story. But it'd be nice to see it happen.

He wants a huge pay day and he is probably going to get it, we cant afford him and I dont think we need him.
we dont need a max contract player coming off the bench, because thats exactly where he will be for a majority of the game. The mans not what you'd consider a defensive specialist, and would not start ahead of players such as vince carter or richard jefferson. The backcourt is SOLIDIFIED. What we need is a nice athletic big, who can finish on the break, defend, and be an above average rebounder.

We don't need him unless he miraculously turns into Kenyon Martin. He's a small forward that can't defend, RJ can give us the same amount of points and can hold the opposite team's best perimeter player on defense. This team doesn't need another perimeter player especially when that's gonna get paid 8-10 million a year or more. Nets need size not offense.

Save the dough, though, he could come cheap, unless he has an understanding with Pacer ownership, that he terminates, the what 8 million left and agree to a multi year deal averaging about 5-6 million a year for about 5 years. If he's looking for a pay day, he is overvaluing himself.

Funny. I was just thinking how Peja would be great on our bench this morning when I was reading the rumors. We still go on offensive droughts and having a shooter off the bench like Peja would be great. I don't get why Peja is opting out. I doubt anyone offers him more than the 8 mil he's currently making.

Yea, he'd be perfect in that role, but he and his agent probably thinks he can get a long term deal, don't know if they're shooting for 8 mill per, but maybe a 5 year 30-35 million deal. He's basically tossing the final year out to get a long term deal. He should pick up the option, play a full year, then see his value, then again, he'll be a year older. I think Indy maybe on a purge this summer. I mean we've seen how far a Jax-O'Neal team can go, not too far, maybe they scrap it and rebuild, with Peja opting out the start of it.

He's not worth max money. Let some other team carry his burden. I like RJ thank you very much.

Peja would be great for this team because he wouldn't be the go to guy. As a 4th or 5th option on offense, I think he would shoot like he did in Sacto before everyone depended on him and he arose as an MVP candidate because the pressure wasn't forced upon him. Then he crumbles apart including an airball in the playoffs a while ago. As long as we take off the pressure, he'd be a good shooter.

PEJA is not going to be cheap. He would be a great addition though if he signs with us for the minimum, but it's never going to happen. He's a great shooter period. We need that kind of shooting when RJ and VC are being doubled, PEJA will make our opponents pay with the three.

He can't play defense though.
