Chicago tp Phoenix - Fizer , Crawford , Gill , Brunson , and Jefferies = $7.8M

Phoenix to Chicago - Carparkaba, Jacobsen and Eisley = $8.8M

This trade makes perfect sense for both teams .

Got to go - explain later

OK

From our point of view .. Eisley's contract sucks - no question

But he is a very capable ( if overpaid ) back up point guard that does not turn the ball over and plays in control . Not flashy .. but will make the right plays - a bit like Charlie Ward

We have no use for Fizer and Chris Jeffries and Gill just isn't effective on a team like this as he was on a team going somewhere like the Wolves

So basically .. assuming we let Fizer and Gill walk for zip at the end of the season and and we pass on Jeffiries option next summer .. its basically Jamal for Zarko and Casey

We get our SF need addressed in Zarko and the Wally like perimeter shooter in Jacobsen

Make no mistake Zarko CAN PLAY Hasn't shown a lot as he is hasn't been given extended minutes yet but he was given decent minutes the other night against Denver and some of the plays he pulled off on both ends of the floor makes you realise that this kid is starter material and will prove to be a very very good player. He has instincts and poise .. which together with his talent is going to make him quite a formidable player.. take it to the bank .

Phx know what they haev in Zarko buit may give him up as he is not going to play big minutes on the forward line behind Marion and Stoudamire .... AND .... by doing this trade and saddling Eisley into the deal .. Phz take their lottery pick and likely NEw York's this summer and add to Barbosa, Joe Johnson , Marion and Stoudamire and armed with around $14M to spend in free agency ... about the amount of money they will need to sign Kobe Bryant. If they miss on Kobe.. they hold the rights to Jamal Crawford who they could keep if they wanted to .. or work a sign and trade with another team without BYC issues clouding the deal because of their cap space

Everyone else on they receive from the Bulls would be cut

So....

We have

Curry
Chandler
Carparkaba
Jacobsen
Hinrich

bench

Davis
Blount
J.Williams
Pippen
Robinson
Dupree
Eisley

That would give us our lottery pick ( say top 7 ) to package with one of Davis,J.Williams or Eddie Robinson ( last year of contract next year and therefore attractive to a team looking to clear space for the following summer ) to try and go to the market for a top flight 2 guard

If Seattle miss the playoffs .... AD + a #5 pick for Ray Allen or ERob and a #5 for Rashard Lewis may interest the Supes

So

Curry
Chandler
Carparkaba
Allen
Hinrich

Blount
Williams
Dupree/Robinson
Jacobsen
Eisley/Pippen

The other thing to consider with Eisley's cost is that he has $14M left over 2 seasons. The 3rd year is a team option which naturally isn't getting picked up

For the next 2 seasons we have Zarko and Casey .. two guys that could be pivotal players logging heavy minutes at a cost of $3M a year

What are we going to pay Jamal if we keep him ?

Let's be generous and say $6M average per season

Zarko , Casey and Howard wil cost $10M per season for the next two years

Jamal and Chris Jeffries will cost $6.5M per ( averaging out Jeffries salary next year given that we don't take up the option for him in the 2nd year of this cost comparison )

So we lose one starter to get another ( Jamal for Zarko ) where our biggest need position is .. plus we get a guy who could start in Jacobsen .. but if we add a top flight talent .. will be the sharp shooter on the wings that comes from the bench .. a Wally like kind of player although I don't think quite as good as Wally - but for the money ??? Bargain .

So .. we're talking about Eisley costing us an extra $3.5M a year for the next two years when there will likely be no luxury tax and when we aren't going to be a player in free agency anyway (except the MLE market )

The reality is is that from a L tax point of view and a free agency point of view .. holding Eisley for 2 years at an extra $3.5M while we would have Zarko and Jacobsen signed cheap to late 1st round rookie deals is small beer

Its the last year of Eisley's contract that the contract extensions would kick in for Curry and Chandler anyway and on recent thought .. its unlikely we or anyone else will be breaking open the bank for them if they maiantain their current level of status / play... however if they improve , of course they will be paid by the Bulls

We have to take a chance at where the next special type player may pop up and take soem chances / wear some encumberances to get him

Zarko could be well worth the risk

But Eisley isn't any real encumberance given that we don't have L tax concerns and we are not a FA player for the next few years anyway

Pay his cost if you can get cheap young talent on rookie contracts that are under the radar elsewhere and for reasons being what they are .. won't get huge burn

We dont really need another PF, A true SG is nice but Jacobsen isnt much more than a solid bench player. Eisley is garbage.

We'd be giving up JC for that, which doesnt make much sense.

Suns would do this in a heartbeat, I doubt we would/should though.

I dont see Phoenix doing this one, Zarko is close to being untouchable, he is a very nice player.

Zarko is not a PF

He's just a forward .. not a classic power type like Nene or a jump shooting 3 like Wally

He's got a nicely varied game .. seems to guard on the perimeter a bit from what I see and does OK .. so long as the team's defensive scheme stays together.. when it breaks down ..he tries but seems a bit hesitant about which play to make but this will come with maturity

He has the instincts and the feel for the game

I guess you wouldn't have thought they would have traded Starbury as well

This is a piss easy deal for the Suns to do

With Amare, Barbosa and two forthcoming 1st round picks ... they can't afford to hang on to two other young talents to develop in their system

Learn from us in the mistakes that we have made in trying to develop too many young talents at once

Phoenix have a nice assembly of young talent .. they are clearly playing for cap room to make a splash in free agency to age their squad with marquee talent and they are even better positioned to do this by making this trade

They did deal Starbs for space.. why not Zarko ?

Fact is they would in a heartbeat

If they can pick up Pavel in the draft and develop him behind Jake and Jahidi and pick up Bryant and a swing player with the New York pick .. they are set

Pavel
Amare
Matrix
Kobe
Barbosa

That's a young starting 5 with playoff experience that could be whooping butt for some time
