Which players who came out of the gate on fire are now starting to come back down to where many expected them to be? On the other hand, which players still haven't come back down to earth and are making it look like it could be the real deal?

Mehmet Okur is proving his doubters correct in the last couple of games. I am hesitant to pass complete judgement because of the plethora of injuries the Jazz have faced. Okur is simply a better player when AK is out there with him, but a truly great player can produce anytime, anywhere.

The first name I can think of is Pau Gasol.

The first 3 games he was putting up 27 ppg, along with 9 boards and 4 assists. Some thought it was his breakout season. But it looks like he's come back to Earth, in the last 6 games he's only put up 16.5 ppg and 7 rpg. The Grizz are still playing well though.

Kobe. Don't let his 42 point game fool you, he had a below-average shooting percentage.
Beat me to it, Kobe had 2 games in a row below 20 points. Very odd when he was averaging above 30 prior to that.

Yes it's very odd that Kobe could average over 30 PPG..
That's not odd, it's odd that he was averaging above 30, then strung together to games below 20.

Hopefully Marcus Camby can keep up his brilliant play. He's been the best player on a mediocre Nuggets team thus far.

Leading the league in rebounds I believe...Looks like what he has been working for this summer may be coming to fruition...Defensive MVP...

Yao Ming.

He had a thread about how he had become 'dominant' after the first two games. He'd been off since then, really.

He's bothered by foul trouble. Too many questionable calls on him. When he's on the court, Rockets usually get good results. Last night against Spurs, Yao sit on the bench 3 times for 6 minutes, and Spurs made 3 runs for a total of +14 on Rockets. That was the game.

not to mention due to his 2nd half foul trouple, he shot the ball only once and had a single point
After getting 17 or so in the 1st half

Flip Murray...wait a sec, that was last year. Isn't the gate still open for a few more games? Remember Flip was lighting it up for 20 games before his gate closed.
