Jay Williams may be a poor imitation of a pure point guard, as many attest, but there's no doubt about his ability to play the game. Having made that concession, I still say he's an imperfect fit, a conflict waiting to happen; neither Williams nor Jalen Rose are entirely happy and effective unless they're dominating the ball.

By now, everybody pretty much accepts the Bulls will tag Williams No. 2 in the draft. OK, then why are the Clippers, who openly covet the Duke of Durham, trying to move up to No. 4 by offering Nos. 8 & 12? Do they have designs on someone else at the slot, or have they been told, if you get that high we'll flip flop No. 2 for No. 4 in exchange for Lamar Odom, or Darius Miles, or Quentin Richardson?

I would do a deal of Q and #4 for #2 in a heartbeat... This would be a great deal for us!

Who would we take with the 4th pick? I would take Butler

Rose/J-Craw
Q-Rich/Hassell
Butler/E-rob
Chandler/Fizer
Curry/Bagoric

This lets Rose play the position he wants to play,
this gives Bagoric and Curry a chance to see what their made of by splitting time at center.

We have room for 5 more players
We also have Hoiberg/Norm/Guyton/ and 2 draft picks

Either Butler or that Woods. Either one i think would be fine.

I'm thinking that Jerry would get Tskit with the #4 as has been speculated and mulled over on the Realgm board. However with him and Q on board, we'd have one large 9-man rotation, and we'd have to get rid of someone who wears the #21.

This is the first thing vescey has written that I agree with.

The trade would be all picked players. Memphis supposedly likes J.JEffries a lot and is looking to get him in a swp down.

2.Bulls would pick JWill
4.Memphis would pick Tskitishvili
8. Clips would pick J.Jeffries
12. Clips would pick Woods or Wagner

Jeffries and a Memphis connected player Woods or Wags would go to Memphis for Tskitishvili.

Tskits and home boy Q.Rich would go to the Bulls for J.Will
With the 30 or 43 the Bulls get a PG - either Maddox, Taylor,
Parker, or Bremer.
The Bulls resign Best

Roster

1. Craw, Best, Maddox
2. QRich, ERob, Hassel, Rose
3. Rose, ERob, Tskitishvili
4. Chandler, Fizer, Tskitishvili
5. Curry, Bags, Chandler

IR or practise squad is Hoiberg, and 2nd 2nd round pick

That's a very deep and versatile roster,

Tskits could be brought along slowly and in 3 yrs the Bulls
would have the most dominant front line in the NBA for
many years to come.

Is QRich a second star that can propel us to the playoffs THIS year ?

What's the reason behind him sitting behind Pike and Magdog despite being the third leading scorer ?

Is 43% and 38% really that impressive ?

part 1 of the trade already initiated............

West looks to make immediate impact with Clippers trade

Jerry West is not waiting to try to make an impact on the Memphis Grizzlies.

The architect of the current three-time defending champion Lakers who took over as the Grizzlies president of basketball operations this spring, has offered to make a lottery shaking trade with the Los Angeles Clippers this weekend and is awaiting an answer, according to a source involved in the discussions.

The Clippers' interest in Nickoloz Tskitishvili might prompt them to trade for Memphis' No. 4 pick.(AP)
Memphis would ship the fourth pick in Wednesday's NBA draft to the Clippers two first round selections, No. 8 and No. 12. The Clippers are considering it.

L.A., according to the source, covets 7-foot center Nickoloz Tskitishvili from The Republic of Georgia but doesn't believe the talented European will be around at No. 8.

With the top three picks -- Houston taking Yao Ming, Chicago selecting Jay Williams and Golden State picking Michael Dunleavy Jr. -- all but set, Tskitishvili should be there for the taking at No. 4.

The Grizzlies, meanwhile, who have their eye on Kansas forward Drew Gooden should they keep the fourth pick, believe quality players will slide to 8 and 12. Memphis is very interested in both Indiana University forward Jared Jeffries and University of Memphis guard Dajuan Wagner.

At least one, if not both players should be available at No. 8 and it is possible Wagner might slide to No. 12.

Bulls future is contingent upon the development of Chandler and Curry. The goal isn't simply to get in the play-offs. The goal is to win championships. Next season for better or worse will be a development year with about 35 to 40 wins. In two to three years with Skeeta AND Q. the Bulls will be dominate. A Curry, Chanlder, Skeeta front line will be reminescent of the Celtics front line from the early eighties...except a lot more athletic.

Right now QRich is a major upgrade at the 2, and yes his numbers are very good for a SG on a team where he largely had to create his own shot. Plus he just turned 22 in April so he has a lot of room for growth.

Odom obviously has much more overall talent, but he also has many more "issues" plus will command a larger contract very soon.

Miles lack of range on his shot is what makes him to me the least attractive of the 3. Miles only hit 3 of 19 from 3 pt range. The Bulls absolutely need 3 pt shooting from the 2 or 3 spot. W/o range Miles just duplicates ERob...a very athletic player with incredible hops, but no range.

Which is probably what we already have a lot of in E-Rob and Hassell. Since my days of times tables and the Bulls first string of championships, I have never heard of players who'd actually like to come off the bench. That doesn't seem like the type to lead.

However, we also have a lot of potential leaders on this team, so a role player combined with another perceived potential superstar (Tskit) might be the better deal for us than just Jay. So at least with either Q or Richardson, they'd be able to find their roles and bring in their energy as needed.

There's a contradiction here. Vecsey suggests that its the Clippers who are pushing for the deal with Memphis. The Dan Wetzel article, on the other hand, lists Memphis and Jerry West as the initiator of these trade discussions.

If West is the one pursuing the deal, then that pretty much refutes Vecsey's contention that the Clips want the #4 pick so they can offer it to the Bulls.

Information and misinformation...it all sounds the same as draft day draws closer. Just be careful what you're willing to buy into these days.

hmmm I think this is the most interesting rumour I've heard

As long as this article is not based upon what Vescey said and is based upon another independant source.

Say the clips did have the 4 pick then I'm sure they wouldn't mind giving up say QRich and the pick for JWill.

One way for them to keep their players together would be to get the playoffs so Sterling can see they are worth the money and also maybe a some of them can see the value in taking a little less money to help keep the team together. Otherwise the Clipps know they only have a limited amount of time before they are broken up.

If this is how the Clipps management feel they might even consider Miles instead of Q. With JWill added to the team they should have all the pieces to go a long way. They have wing players to burn and given the trade value for Odom has dropped so much they probably have to keep him - given that his troubles might allow them to resign him cheaply or if he can show the league he can keep it together for the coming season his trade value would quickly rise.

I'd still love to get Miles instead of Q even though he seems to have big maturity issues. I know he has said some stuff about the Bulls in the past but Elton left on good terms so I expect he would have heard some good things plus he should fit in with our young guys. I would be interested in how much he has developed over the off season.

Could Tskitishvili be the dark horse Krause is really interested in? Can anyone fill me in if they have read anything about Krause scouting him?

HJHJR, not necessarily it might just be the spin the author wanted to put on the article. He might have heard of a deal between Memphis and the Clipps and thought it would be more interesting to the readers if worked the angle of Jerry West weaving his magic.

My fear would be that he has the same source as Vescey so it would not really be adding any validity to the rumour. It would be even worse if the author just was rehashing what he read in the NY Post!

Krause was in Europe recently to watch the European championships...he wasn't there to see David Anderson.

Miles can't shoot esp. from the arc. Miles makes spectacular plays and is very athletic, but Q. would fit better with the Bulls.

Bulls already have a Miles type player in ERob.
