I am not sure about Ratko from what I saw from him last year he was not real impressive. This year though they were saying he was by far the best center in the orlando summer league games of course that was summer league ball and they arent playing against real good competiton.

Well...

I hope for the best but...I believe he isn't really that good. No NBA team is going to let a 7'1 270 lbs. guy rot away on the bench when the need for size is so great (and the Pistons ALWAYS need size). Yeah I realize that he isn't as 'americanized" as Zelly is. But why didn't he play at all last year? I do think the Pistons will make sure that Varda plays every bit that he can during the preseason to make sure he is /isn't a stiff before they cut/keep himI hope he isn't. (but I am a realist)

Ratko Varda is a long term Piston project. One of the main reasons he's buried so deep is there really isn't room for him in the rotation, another is the language barrier (hard to follow the coaches instructions after a timeout if you can't understand what he's saying). I think he has a future in the NBA.

What made you dig up this thread? Radko Varda?

He's going to be the answer to some trivia question in the future with a name like that.

Gee Willikers, that is 40 points per 48 minutes!

We need JustinCase to come in here and proove that those numbers are worthy of getting excited about. The funny thing is I bet he could.

I thought he really did a great job as Jack in the movie "The Shining."
