Comments? You said it so well and gave reasons for your personal choices (opinions) and all in all, a very good post! I REALLY enjoyed reading it.

There isn't too much I would differ with, maybe adding Mr. Stockton, the OLD wonder, who can still keep up with the YOUNGsters and still sets the best pics ever by a guard
( just ask Malone and a slew of Jazz how good Stockton is at that job that has no stat, BUT is vital to offensive success.) & a short little pg at that, and he just keeps on ticking! He really is a marvel to me and gets overlooked so much.

The only real dispute I can think of is maybe Ben Wallace and Rasheed Wallace in the top 5 for PF's. I think I also included Dirk Nowitzki, higher than J. O'Neal and Elton Brand in mine. All in all, I agree with most of your post, except for the PF's. And even there, I think you hit the top three right on the head.

Tracy McGrady is a SG. Plus, you accidently have Kobe #1......
I don't think that was an accident... :grinning:

And, for others, why consider Ben Wallace a center? He didn't play center in one game last year. He played power forward all year, and that IS his natural position.

Vince Carter is the most overrated player in the league right now. Back when he just dunked on everyone and took the rock to the hoop he was a top five SG or SF. But now all he does (when he is healthy) is wear high socks and headbands, shoot 3's, and not play defense. Iverson is way beter and so are many other players.

Oh I see. Yeah, T-Mac does spend some time at the SF, but I still think he is the best player in the game.....

T-Mac is better right now because he doesn't have any other good players on his team and he was still able to lead them to the playoffs. When Kobe has other good players on his team, especially Shaq. So until Kobe proves to me that he can lead a team by himself, I say T-Mac is better.

PGs (w/ explanation)
1. Jason Kidd- Must I really explain what he has done this year and his many, many talents as a point?

2. Gary Payton- Yeah, I know he's kinda old... but he's still a spectacular point whos leadership, defense and scoring ability caused the Sonics to go back into the playoffs

3. Baron Davis- Arguably the most athletic point in the game... very well rounded... probably going to be at the top of any top PGs list in 3-5 years. Like KBStAT said... he pretty much single-handedly led the Hornets past the Magic in the 1st Round.

4. Mike Bibby- Sure, he needs to prove he could strive in the regular season before going higher on this list... yet someone (forgot who) said that "superstars are made in the playoffs"... couldn't agree more...

5. Steve Francis- Probably the most well-rounded point in the league, along w/ JKidd. Led the Rockets AND among the league leaders in scoring, assists AND rebounding. W/ Yao Ming and possibly another free agent, he may be able to get the chance to prove himself in the playoffs this year.

Rest w/ out explanations

Again: Why Ben Wallace at center? I'm really confused on this. Otherwise I like your list, except I think Rasheed should be there at PF...

Oh, I go by the positions the players started at while playing last year, not their natural positions... that's why I got Ben Wallace at C, Paul Pierce at SG (Eric Williams was the starting SF), Kevin Garnett at SF (Joe Smith was the starting PF), and Dirk Nowitzki at PF (Edjuardo Najera was the starting SF)...

see my "new stamp of greatness - elevating your team to mediocrity" thread on pg 2 for my viewpoint, fwiw.

of course elevating your team somewhere is better than not elevating your team anywhere. i don't see how this pertains to the current discussion though.
