Wouldn't it be nice if we had Steve Nash? Well why not try investing in a potential Steve Nash - Luke Ridnour!! It just occured to me how amazingly similar they are, here is my comparison:

Nash's stats (1st yr)
10.5 mins .423 fg% .418 3pt% .824 ft% 1 rpg 2.1apg 3.3 ppg
Ridnour's stats
17.4 mins .378 fg% .340 3pt% .840 ft% 1.5 rpg 2.4 apg 6.4 ppg
Nash - drafted 15th overall
Ridnour - drafted 14th overall
Nash - played under the guidance of Jason Kidd
Ridnour - playing under the guidance of Ray Allen and Brent Barry
Nash - great ball handling skills and not afraid to pull the trigger
Ridnour - see above
Nash - floor general who commands the offense
Ridnour - not yet in the NBA, but he was back in Oregon
Nash - defensive liability
Ridnour - ditto
Nash - reached star potential as starting guard for Mavs
Ridnour - perhaps he can reach star potential with the Raps?
Only major difference between the two right now is that Nash has a higher basketball IQ, and his determination to succeed has made him an all-star in Dallas. Will Ridnour be determined enough to be a star in this league? That I cannot say, but during the NCAA tournament last yr he poured his heart on the court for the Oregon Ducks.

So how do we acquire him? How about this trade:

Seattle trades: C Vitaly Potapenko (3.8 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 0.6 apg in 11.9 minutes)
PG Luke Ridnour (6.4 ppg, 1.5 rpg, 2.4 apg in 17.4 minutes)
Seattle receives: PG Milt Palacio (4.5 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 3.2 apg in 20.1 minutes)
PF Jerome Moiso (1.2 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 0.1 apg in 8.1 minutes)
SF Lamond Murray (8.7 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 1.2 apg in 21.0 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +4.2 ppg, +3.1 rpg, and +1.5 apg.

Toronto trades: PG Milt Palacio (4.5 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 3.2 apg in 20.1 minutes)
PF Jerome Moiso (1.2 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 0.1 apg in 8.1 minutes)
SF Lamond Murray (8.7 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 1.2 apg in 21.0 minutes)
Toronto receives: C Vitaly Potapenko (3.8 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 0.6 apg in 22 games)
PG Luke Ridnour (6.4 ppg, 1.5 rpg, 2.4 apg in 33 games)
Change in team outlook: -4.2 ppg, -3.1 rpg, and -1.5 apg.

TRADE ACCEPTED (note: trade cannot take place until Feb. 16th)

We get rid of 3 guys not in the regular rotation for two possible additions to the rotation. Potapenko's not great, but he's a centre, and GG loves size right? =)

Don't get me wrong Sonics fans, Seattle's like my 3rd fav team, but you guys just have too many guards at your disposal... Murray should prove to be a great back-up for Rasheed, and Moiso still has untapped potential... and I only threw in Milt to make the trade work, you guys can waive him if you like :) If you're not satisfied we can throw in the draft rights to Matt Bonner too!

I personally love this trade for both teams, and should help both in their playoff runs.

So what do you guys think? :D

only way i could see SEA giving away Ridnour:
a) we give em a good player who could be cap space and we take on one of their bad contracts
b) we give them a younger player of lesser value + draft picks

i see Ridnour being their PG of the future so i highly doubt SEA is looking to give him away just for anybody

Why do the raptors need Luke Ridenower?
The Raptors should aquire TJ Ford but hey, it's not going to happen. Why would a team want to give up on a rookie prospect in exchange for moiso and whatever else you said. Moiso can't even get solid minutes on the raptors, who are starved for big men.

Well yah I guess this trade kinda favours the Raps too much... but Seattle absolutely hates Potapenko's contract, and Ridnour's like the 5th guard in their rotation right now. We all know Murray and Moiso are useless to us right now, but they may be good commodities from another team's perspective. KO might not give them a chance, but I'm sure there's still game left in Murray and Moiso.
Well if the trade seems so uneven maybe we can substitute Ridnour for Richie "3 point" Frahm, and we keep Palacio.

Seattle trades: SG Richie Frahm (4.2 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 0.6 apg in 9.8 minutes)
C Vitaly Potapenko (3.8 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 0.6 apg in 11.9 minutes)
Seattle receives: PF Jerome Moiso (1.2 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 0.1 apg in 8.1 minutes)
SF Lamond Murray (8.7 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 1.2 apg in 21.0 minutes)
Change in team outlook: +1.9 ppg, +2.0 rpg, and +0.1 apg.

Toronto trades: PF Jerome Moiso (1.2 ppg, 2.1 rpg, 0.1 apg in 8.1 minutes)
SF Lamond Murray (8.7 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 1.2 apg in 21.0 minutes)
Toronto receives: SG Richie Frahm (4.2 ppg, 1.2 rpg, 0.6 apg in 31 games)
C Vitaly Potapenko (3.8 ppg, 2.3 rpg, 0.6 apg in 22 games)
Change in team outlook: -1.9 ppg, -2.0 rpg, and -0.1 apg.

TRADE ACCEPTED

But I'm telling ya'll right now Ridnour will likelly produce Nash-like numbers in a few yrs. I may be a bit bias but I personally like his game better then TJ "can't shoot" Ford and Kirk Hinrich.
but yah I posted this on the Sonics board and they all like Ridnour very much too
