Wow, that's interesting. I for one wasn't too optimistic about Roko coming over next year. They will probably wait one more year, when they don't need to buy him out.
Likely a non-guaranteed contract. We're probably keeping him on the payroll to ensure nobody else grabs him.
Colangelo doesn't think James is a true point guard, for whatever reason. So our plan might be to still bring a new guard in, whether it be Roko or someone else, and continue to use Mike in a combo role if we keep him.

jose and barrett are the only point guards on our roster next year. plenty of room (and complimentary options) for roko. if we can work a buy-out for roko this summer he'll be here. if we can't, having just jose is just not going to happen. good move.
It's also worth pointing out that Dough Smith virtually guaranteed that Barrett would not be on the roster next season in his InterNet column today. Nice call.

Here is the link3. Uros Slokar and Roko-Leni Ukic: BC said that everything he's heard about Slokar's ongoing development is that he's going to be a player who can help us here. As we've heard before, he was considered the best player on our summer league team last year.
As for Ukic, he said that he's been high on Ukic since the draft workouts 2 years ago, when he "gave Devin Harris fits with his length". Said he's not the best defender, but that his length makes him an interesting player. He announced that he is working right now on getting him out of his contract with Tau Ceramica "sooner than expected". That being over there is not helping his development, and getting him here soon will be the best thing for him. It's been a frustrating season for Ukic with injuries, and also his personal disappointment at not being drafted in the 1st, despite assurances from several teams. Reading between the lines, we can expect to see Ukic here next season, which is news to me of the good variety.

I'm not posting it as fact. But the comments were made by the GM at the meet and greet which is more than you just simply saying 'Ukic isnt coming over'.

I don't think I've ever said Ukic isn't coming over this year, could you find where I did?
My bad, I've watched a few TAU games this year, can't talk about filesharing here so can't tell you how I got them. But came away very impressed with his ballhandling and his ability to take it to the hole or pull up. He's young but he's still not afraid to be vocal on the court with the older guys, which I like in a PG. The one thing that worried me was that sometimes likes the one handed pass too much which won't fly with so many ball hawks in the league, but I think that would last all of about 1 or 2 practices of Sam firing the ball back off his head to remedy that problem.
I think that he's a better prospect than any of the PGs this draft.
