Where is the buyout?

So much for Embry and BC being so much better than Babs was with Zo. Same crap, but at least Babs saved some $$$ with Zo.

Is AD eligible for the playoffs with another team? Notice how the PR says he was unlikely to return 'with the Raptors'? Better not happen like that. Don't want to see him in a Chicago uniform this year.

And if he won't even stay around to coach our young guys a bit then why do we have to pay him? I don't like this at all.

??

Isn't AD expiring anyways? I doubt he would have even considered a buyout.

All this does is open up another roster spot. Can't say I wouldn't have rather kept him though... as a mentor of course.

Sign Barrett for the rest of the year since Calderon.

I'm kinda surprised by this. Guess he's hurt worse than they (or I) thought. No big loss, though, since the contract was expiring anyway.

Oh, and lucky777s, the problem with Babcock is that he paid Mourning $10 million to NOT play for Toronto for 2 YEARS (if I recall correctly) when he could have backed out and paid that whiner Mourning nothing.

Stop freaking out people. James is absolutely correct. Davis wasn't coming back anyways this season, and if he was he'd be wasting a roster spot that should be going to a young player, since we're not making the playoffs anyways. Davis isn't eligible for the playoffs, so it's doubtful he'll be signing anywhere else this season anyways. BC did this to clear a roster spot for another young 10-day contract player. Would you rather pay Antonio Davis and have him waste a roster spot that could go to a young player, or would you pay Antonio Davis and have a young 10-day contract player that could help us in the future playing in his spot? Easy decision, as far as I'm concerned.

Overdramatic much?

16 games left in the year. That's 16 games he would've seen on television if he even bothered to watch. He wasn't playing or practicing or even traveling with the team. He wasn't even in the same city when we were at home.

He's not eligible for the playoffs as far as I know, nor can he sign with Chicago, iirc. And even if he did he was useless this year.

Hard to coach our young guys when he's in the States seeing back specialists.

This season, AD has really shown his true colours. First, he refuses to show up when traded to the Knicks, and only agrees once his salary is questioned. Way to be a pro AD. Second, he rushes into the stands in the middle of a timeout to come to the aid of his wife who was harassing other fans. Way to be a pro AD. Third, he comes to Toronto and a mysterious back injury appears (from hanging on the rim, sure AD), and he stops coming to games or travelling with the team. Way to be a pro AD.

The worst thing is that this guy is the president of the players union. What kind of example is he for younger players? What a joke.

Well, your recollection is rather poor then because it was PEDDIE, not Babs who forced that buyout. And there was never an option to pay Zo nothing. He could have sat out on medical conditions or just retired and gotten every dime. Even with the 'horrible' buyout the Raps saved about 6 million bucks.

The press made such a big deal about Embry making this 'great' trade for Jalen and how AD reported. So much for that. May as well have gotten Penny and bought him out immediately. We end up paying at least 20% of ADs salary for absolutely nothing in return. The guy is a vet and knows all the little tricks of the league, especially defensively. He could easily be here working with Hoff and Sow most days.

This is truly the honeymoon phase for Embry/BC and people are making excuses for them. That won't last too long if we get outbid for the few legit C's on the market this summer. Chicago, Atlanta, and others will be looking at the same crop of bigs we are.

If there is some great 10 day big man out there then why not just waive Loren Woods if we even need the extra spot? Not like Loren plays much or is in our future.

Honestly, if this was a Babs move everyone would be screaming.

I dont see Chicago as a huge spender in Fa on Centers, Chandler is thier C and I fully expect them to take Lemarcus Aldrige.

There are 3 C's to bid on Nazr, Pryz & Nene

Pryz is the least risk with still high reward, with Nazr u know what u are getting not much upside but whatever he has would considerbly make us better, so would Nene but his asking price is way to high and i' concerned about his knee's.
