Real Madrid CF are likely to be without captain Raúl González until January after tests confirmed he had injured his left knee.

Medical tests
Tests at the Clínica Ruber Internacional this morning confirmed that the Spanish international striker had damaged his kneecap and the surrounding ligaments. Due to the severity of the injury, Raúl is now to consult specialists to decide on the best course of action for his rehabilitation process.

Awkward movement
Raúl had to leave the pitch after 58 minutes of Madrid's 3-0 home defeat against FC Barcelona at the weekend after jarring his knee while going to kick a ball. Doctors are yet to confirm exactly how long the striker will be out of action for, but Madrid are already expecting a long lay-off.

Bad and Good news, bad news cuz i would never wish that to happen to anyone and cuz we need him on the bench asap. Good news cuz now we'll see how Madrid do without him in the starting 11....many fans wanted him out of the starting lineup and now they got their wish, so lets see how'd perform agains Lyon without him.

Personally I think Real Madrid are better without him. It'll be interesting to see how they perform in his absence.

Does this put Robinho up top with Ronaldo?
Yes, or maybe Babtista...but both will be starting nonetheless.
