Mitch has said that he wants to come back, because he thinks PJ will play him next year. What do you think? I would like to resign him if PJ is actually going to play him-he is aggresive on offense and can shoot. His defense is weak-but we don't need him for defense.

I dont think LA is gonna re-sign him next year.

He gets no playing time and I have no idea why Rich wants to play for a team he doesent play for (get it)

Lets face it does Mitch bring that much to this team that it's woth re-signing him. I respect his game and personally would rather see Mitch play for a team where he can help and teach rookies/young players the system rather then a team that his talent is wasted away on the bench.

Good luck to Mitch but I don't wanna see him here. He will never get significant minutes here as he usually comes in when Kobe goes to bench. I heard him say on the radio that he wants to come back for a year and that he is disappointed about not having PT but is accepting the role.

Personally I only think he can be effective as a starter anymore. It takes him a while to get warmed up and get his shot going. Phil mainly likes combo guards off the bench.

Plus it would take 1 mill to bring him back at the minimum. Game 4 will be Shaw and Mitchs last games as Lakers. Unless the Lakers make some trades they'll need to draft a SG or a combo guard in the draft.

Yeah, I guess I'd like to see him back next year, as long as he gets more minutes. It's no use having a player as good as him sitting on the bench every game.

Mitch Richmond...

Mitch may possibly resign for the veteran minimum because he is a good influence in the locker-room. He could really help Kobe considering MJ once claimed that he was the best shooting guard behind himself in the 90's. Mitch will not get any playing time next year if he resigns but could really help the team.

They have to atleast re-sign him for 1 more year. He should get more playing time if George leaves, he can back up Kobe off the bench. He still has his jump shot in him.
