"On Wednesday, November 30th, Clippers’ center Zeljko Rebraca is scheduled to undergo an ablation of the accessory bypass tract, a procedure designed to help prevent a recurrence of the symptoms of an irregular heartbeat which has kept him sidelined for the last two games. Rebraca was diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat at the conclusion of the Clippers game against Toronto on November 23rd. He was hospitalized overnight for further tests and was released on November 24th after his heartbeat returned to a normal rhythm." Clippers/InsideHoops.com

"Rebraca will travel to Detroit on Tuesday and will have the procedure performed on Wednesday by Dr. Fred Morady at University of Michigan Hospital. Morady performed the same procedure on Rebraca on August 7, 2003, after he missed 50 games for the Pistons during the 2002-03 season due to a recurring irregular heartbeat. Rebraca is expected to miss at least one month of action." Clippers/InsideHoops.com

That sucks. This is why i had said in the begginning it was very strange for the clippers to give someone with such a propensity for injury a large (for a 10 min/game player) contract. Oh well, good for Z, he is financially secure. Good for wilcox to get some minutes now. Good for the clippers as hopefully this is insured, although it might not be since this is a pre existing condition that z had.

And good for Z that hes feeling better, and that hopefully this surgery will take care of this problem on a more permanent basis.

Well this sucks. So this Dr. is going to perform the same operation that is supposed to stop Rebraca's irregular heartbeats again? Hmmm....

Do you guys think that some moves will be made because of this move? Unless Wilcox proves something good soon or NDong steps up there could be some move. Wilcox can play offensivly at Center but definetly not defensively and NDong is quite frankly too skinny but not much has been seen out of him yet regarding playing time.

It'd be nice if Kurt Thomas of the Suns became available, i think it'd be a good trade for both teams, Phoenix would get a forward-center that can play better in their uptempo system since Amare looks like he'll be gone practically the whole season. And the clippers would get a more reliable veteran back up that can make smart decisions. Personally i think both teams would be improved.

Backup center Zeljko Rebraca is expected to be sidelined another five weeks after undergoing a noninvasive procedure to correct an irregular heartbeat, the Clippers announced.
"He's not supposed to do anything for five days, and then after that he just can't have any contact," Dunleavy said.

"He can shoot, run and do whatever else he wants to do. The only thing I cared about was his health. We just wanted to make sure he was OK. And when he comes back in five weeks, things will still be good."
