Red Jerseys

I just noticed something rather curious about the supposed new red ROAD jerseys for next season.

Don't all of the ROAD jerseys read NEW JERSEY on the front and the HOME jerseys read NETS?

So why is it that the new ROAD jerseys have NETS on the front?

(Sorry I don't have any pics to post)

home jerseys - have the name of the team
road jerseys - have the name of the city or state they play in
alternate road jerseys - have the name of the team
alternate home jerseys - have the city or state they play in

The Nets grey alternates have 'New Jersey' in front of them. Also, Road jerseys don't necessary have to have the State or City name on them (i.e., Lakers, Spurs, Bucks, T-wolves, Wizards, etc...).

The gray ones were used differently, they were kind of home and away alternate jerseys
same with the Lakers, Bucks, T-Wolves and Wiz

if it makes you guys feel any better, there was a study made last year i believe, about professional sports teams ( Soccer, basketball, Hockey, football etc) saying that wearing red uniforms had a higher success rate than any other color. The color red has a tendency of making teams play harder, more focused etc... theres a bit more to the story.

i dont have a link, sorry.

but this was all over TV and articles.

The reds are very nice, but it seems that most teams now have red jerserys (whether it be home, road, alternative). I wish they'd bring back those retros as well, i do believe their the best alternative jerseys in the league.

Is this why the Heat are so successful? Or is it Dwayne Wade? LOL.

Anyway, I love the new jerseys. Makes me want to buy season tickets.

I don't think it has anything to do with that, even though Ratner has been trying to make the team more marketable to the Tri-State area.

They released those red "New Jersey" a couple of years ago. So I would assume they wanted to try something new.

maybe. I probably just hate Ratner so much that I try to criticize him as much as possible. :biggrin:
