Bulls broadcaster Johnny "Red" Kerr, a candidate for the Basketball Hall of Fame, recently taped an interview with WTTW-Ch. 11.
Asked by host Bob Sirott what it would mean to him to be inducted, Kerr, the first coach of the Bulls and a star at Tilden Tech, Illinois and the Syracuse Nationals, responded:
"That would cap off my life. Basketball has been my life. I went to the Colosseum in Rome, I saw the Eiffel Tower in Paris, had an audience with the Pope, saw the Pyramids in Egypt, all because I could throw a little ball through a steel ring.
"The crowning thing would be if someone said, 'Our next inductee is Johnny "Red" Kerr.' That will bring tears to my eyes."
The complete interview will air at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
