The Philly Inquirer reports that Cheltenham's Patrick Mansell has committed to RIDER and will red-shirt next season as the Dempsey was not looking for a point guard in this class. Mansell scored 1,874 points including over 300 threes in his career.

Mansell has been called one of the Philly metro's biggest sleepers as the kid can flat out shoot.

Deep scoring threat was the best three-point shooter in this event. This kid can flat out shoot. One of our area’s true sleepers. Hit five first half treys against Paterson Catholic. Was on fire against Delaware Valley Charter. Improved play makes things happen. Division I prospect (America East, MAAC and MEAC Conferences)

Raver, know what you mean about sleepers. We had one. Slept through class, slept though practice and slept through games. Good luck!

You had a lot more than one. Mansell will red-shirt and will be able to develop an extra year. He's already a solid MAAC level recruit, Beagle said he chose Rider over another MAAC school.

Lewis makes up his mind on Monday, in Ohio right now. I was told a couple of players late, being that we now know one, in my mind, that leaves one more.

Was he denied admission?
Isn't Tyrone Lewis a guard anyway? Rider doesn't need to get more guards, they need more big men!!!

Yes, at this point I'd say you're right.
Where is this kid going to play??? Obviously there is no room for him at guard next year with Johnson, Pierce, Mouton, Mansell, And Warner as the top guards. Even after next season he'll find himself likely in the 4th guard spot for most of his career. There will certainly be a lot of competition at guard the next few years, but honestly they need some bodies to play under the basket. The only guys they have are Thompson, Anderson, and Vosilla!!! No more guards and start bringing in guys 6'6 and up!!!

"Sleeper" - he'll fit right in. You may want to consider joining him.
