"Richard Jefferson has insisted he'll be back for the final game or two for the Nets if they are still in the playoff hunt. He might not be alone. Ron Mercer, whose season has been shattered by left knee surgery and now a lower back strain, said yesterday he has not ruled out a return."

"Coach Lawrence Frank won't allow himself to count on Mercer or Jefferson, noting there's "no timetable" for either. Jefferson, Frank said, has "quickened the [rehab] process" on his left wrist. "It's going to be one of those 'summit' meetings. We won't do anything that will jeopardize his future," Frank said

thats great as long as they arent rushing anything(specifically RJ).

I'd rather miss the playoffs than see RJ come back and do further damage to his wrist.

The other question is: How much can these guys contribute after missing all this time?

rod...please get rid of mercer this offseason. package him and rodney up for a gallon of gatorade so guys who actually give something to this team consistantly can drink when they rest and get re-energized.
