I wouldn't mind if they brought back an all-rookie game this year...

Eastern Conference:

LeBron James
Dwyane Wade
Kirk Hinrich
Chris Bosh
T.J. Ford
Jarvis Hayes
Udonis Haslem
Keith Bogans
Steve Blake
Boris Diaw

Western Conference:

Carmelo Anthony
Josh Howard
Zarko Cabarkapa
Chris Kaman
Raul Lopez
Marquis Daniels
Luke Ridnour
Leandro Barbosa
Sasha Pavlovic
Brian Cook

I still left out some good rookies. Would anyone else not mind seeing this match-up?

Only 9 players per team, not 10, assuming they do what they continued to do last year. I think the game would be pretty decent this year, but there's many years that definitely do not sport enough good rookies for it to work. Because of that, they wouldn't bring it back most likey -- I can't see them doing it for just one year just because this happens to be a good year for rookies.

The east would have to take this one though.

Here's a possibility -

Eastern Conference:

Starters:
C - Chris Bosh
F - LeBron James
F - Jarvis Hayes
G - Dwyane Wade
G- Kirk Hinrich

Bench:
T.J. Ford
Boris Diaw
Udonis Haslem
David West/ Keith Bogans

Western Conference:

Starters:
C - Chris Kaman
F - Zarko Cabarkapa
F - Carmelo Anthony
G - Josh Howard
G - Leandro Barbosa

Bench:
Raul Lopez
Brian Cook
Sasha Pavlovic
Marquis Daniels

The West might have a slight advantage in the paint, but the East has much more talent.

Marcus Banks should be in the rookie game

Here are his stats in the last 4 games. I realize that he had a slow start but he is really starting to come around. The excitement that he brings to the floor is a good reason to put him in.

Here are his stats for the last 4 games (up until 1 - 20 - 2004):
11.75 ppg
18 - 34 shooting for 53%
3 rebounds per game
4 assists per game
1.5 steals per game
2 turnovers per game

These are nice for a rookie point guard.

Marcus should be there.

Barbosa, Hinrich and Ford are better than Banks, so no.

I'm not so sure...

that you are right.

I think a person could make an argument that Hinrich, Ford and Luke Ridnour have had better starts to the season but I do not think that any of them are clearly better than Marcus Banks.

Banks has taken a little longer to adjust to the NBA than those three but he has done very well the past few weeks. If he were to get more playing time (he is averaging a little over 20 minutes per game) he would be putting up even better numbers.

As for Barbosa, he now has a great opportunity to be a starter in this league. He has the physical skills to be very special. Is he better than Banks as you claim? Time will tell.

Yo, I wish Marcus Banks was on a different team. That guy's game is nice. I became a fan after watching a few of his summer league games. I never had the chance to see him at UNLV but from what I've seen, "he got game". The Celtics system has hurt his opportunity.....for now.
