Reminds me of a taller, skinnier, possibly smarter Marcus Banks - elite athleticism, excellent penetration/finishing, tenacious defense, subpar distribution, average shooting.

 at this ridiculous statement. Did you even watch Daniels play in college?

Does this look like a player that Westbrook is BY FAR better than athletically?

Why wouldn't I post anymore in this thread? You guys are wrong if you don't think Westbrook is more athletic. In these 1st 2 videos Daniels is barely even off the ground, only the last video is pretty good. And yet I can link you 5 other ones that are more impressive dunks that Westbrook did just this year alone (i'll find them soon, too busy at work right now to search). Westbrook is still a kid too (i think he just turned 20), so you'll see even more of them in the future.

Daniels is dunking on NBA players, Westbrook is dunking on college players. Did you even see Antonio Daniels at Bowling Green? There was a reason he got picked #4.

Monta Ellis? Oh really, I don't see it. He doesn't handle the ball anywhere near as well as Monta.

With the rate of improvement this kid has shown it wouldn't surprise me to see him improve across the board when we see him play again. He wasn't even supposed to really get off the bench this year. Collison going down forced him into the starting lineup at the beginning of the year and he performed so well Howland had no choice but to find a way to keep him on the floor.

Westbrook isn't going to be a carbon copy of Ellis. I didn't mean to imply that. He's going to provide a team with what Ellis does for the W's. Athleticism, turnovers caused by his defense, high energy, energizing dunks and plays, etc....

I think he will be similar to Ellis offensivley, but probably never quite as effective. Defensivley, he will be much better to Ellis.

I think he would be a very nice addition to the Blazers if they decide to stay at #13.

Westbrook is getting obscenely overrated, I hear people talking of him as a top 10 pick and comparing him to monta ellis. While both are about the same height and electric on the break, you couldnt have a worse comparison.

Westbrooks jumpshot and handles are both suspect, something that I believe you need to be good at on both categories to be a successful combo guard in the nba. I remember reading someone comparing him to lynsey hunter.

I really like that comparison, maybe a taller more athletic lynsey hunter type guy.

I don't see why he is being rated so high either. He'll play great defense, and use his athleticism to take his man. He would be a great fit next to a great 2-guard. I don't see him having star potential at all. Just a damn good role player.

As a Blazer fan, am I the only one who thinks he would be an amazing fit next to Brandon Roy.

Roy can play PG in the half-court set with Westbrook playing off the ball. Most of all, the primary thing the Blazers need out of a PG is great defense, which is what Russell provides.

Here are my questions. Can he initiate the fast break offense(Not finish, but initiate) and does he seem to possess the ability to refine a decent NBA J within 2 or so years.

Here was the weaknesses in the Ellis scouting report:

Weaknesses: A tweener ... Lacks great size for the 2 guard position ... Doesn’t have the skills needed to play point … Desperately needs to put on weight as he’s rail thin ... A team will need to be patient with him since he isn't physically strong enough to handle the physical play of the NBA and especially a long season ... Could have trouble guarding bigger off guards ... Shot can be inconsistent at times …

What they also forgot to mention that Ellis was an elite scorer. Where are his strengths? Just because Ellis improved doesn't mean Westbrook will.

off nbadraft.net? their scouting reports are usually not that great.

Sounds alot like what people were saying about Ellis not too long ago.
and? just because ellis made himself into a great midrange shooter doesn't mean that westbrook will be able to do the same. i've seen many more guys never develop a great shot than actually develop one.

Arguably the most overrated player in this draft. Monta Ellis? Wow what a terrible comparison
