scott layden. dude was the worst thing to ever happen to new york, until isiah thomas

the only positive of layden.......his teams overachieved..with less talent than we got now, he got much more...for example...they won like 38 games or somewhere around there all the time...zeke has just put knick fans through the worst season in the history of the knick franchise......with heartless players.
Biggest difference I see...

Is that Layden emphasized players with character and IT emphasizes players with physical talent.
Re: Biggest difference I see...

Well it's difficult to decide, depending on which angle you look at it. Layden built a '99 Finals team, but he also assembled such an expensive team. As for Isiah Thomas, he's had to clean up after Layden's mess, while having to build a championship caliber team that's non competitive, and having to take on contracts and players according to Brown's orders.
zeke thomas easily is the better GM .

layden took a team that went to the finals and consistently made the team worse, to the point where it was a talentless vessel. he made moves that couldn't possibly work and was just plain bad when it came to spending money ...from giving H2O 100 mil., to taking on the contracts of eisley and shandon anderson to trading pat ewing for glen rice .

i cant off hand think of one move he made that you can call a good decision in hindsight .

as bad as people want to claim IT is , layden was much much worse.

just for not being layden zeke wins.

ernie grunfeld built that team, layden took over the team in 99.

Oh yeahs, woops my bad. Damn I look like an idiot, but yeah, I was a mere 9 back then. I wouldn't have known **** anyways.
Its like chooseing which puddle of throw-up to lick off the floor.
I accidentally voted for Thomas. I meant to vote for Layden. Someone fix!
Isiah has built a team full of egos with no heart and chemistry at all. He has however, acquired a lot of trading assets out of Layden's scrubs.

Layden might have stripped a talented team of all of its talent, but at least they still played hard and went out there to win.

Once Isiah is fired, hopefully the new GM is smart enough to trade all the talent that this current Knicks team has for a couple of guys who complement and play well together.
I went with Layden... and feel soooo dirty
I went with Thomas, and felt extremely dirty about it as well. His draft record....swayed me.

lmao, yeah, if you look at it he brought in more talent, whether through trades or drafts, but it's just that the talent doesn't mesh.
I voted Layden. (Maybe it's a Utah homer thing....)

Seriously, though, I think Layden was just incompetent, and incompetence can be forgiven. Isaiah has to be doing what he's doing deliberately. No other way to look at the decisions he's made. He's trying to send the Knicks down, IMO--and he's done a fine job of it, unfortunately.
