The challenge for NJN will be far tougher against MEM.

MEM has one of the best defensive coaches in the league in Mike Fratello. The team plays a very fundamentally sound brand of basketball. It won't be easy!

The NETS have to get up on 'em early and demoralize the Grizz. Playing from strength in the form of an ever expanding lead is very demoralizing.

The NETS have to play their toughest defense to slow Gasol and shut-down Miller. They have to try to capitalize every advantage the other side gives 'em and exploit the glaring weaknesses.

The NETS have to play intense D and opportunistic O off that D. They have to run in the spots the D gives them and finish well. Fratello knows how to shut down a running game and play a tough half-court game 'til they grab the advantage and pound you into the ground. Basically, they grind you down and out and they can run you in spots, too!

The Grizz are very much like the NETS, but the NETS have a talent advantage. Who's going to outwork, outhustle and out-execute the other team on Friday will determine the victor.

That's why the fundamentals are so important in this game. Execution and rebounding are going to be the keys to victory. Krstic should reprise his 1st Q against PHX for an entire game.

Expect a battle as MEM is on the upswing and playing well. Gasol is the all-star he's always been.

the team that needs to watch out is Memphis.

The way the nets are playing its going to be payback time for the nets. Again, Memphis better watch out!

The nets have held the bulls to 5 pts in the forth qtr, held the pistons to 10 pts in a qtr, and held the suns to 13 pts and 14 pts in a qtr. All were season lows for these teams. If this streak was all done with offense I'd be nervous because a team can cool off, but when a team plays this playoff intensity defense which creates the offense, this streak can continue.

Winning breeds confidense with the starters and bench. Watch out Memphis...

Yeah, I forgot about Eddie Jones. Maybe RJ and/or Wright can switch off helping Carter on Eddie.

In tonight's game against PHX, the NETS followed my last scouting report to a T. They did everything right. Crucial was resting Kidd early by giving Planinic and the bench more minutes keeping the offense humming.

PHX was overwhelmed. The NETS even showed them that they could in spots out-PHX PHX. PHX is actually an easy team to beat with a porous defense.

MEM will be a dog-fight by comparison.

But, celebrate tonight. Savor it before preparing tomorrow for MEM.

Tonight the NETS looked like the Holzman era Knicks of old. My hat is off to the entire club - from top to bottom.

Give me Kidd over Nash, just off of the difference in defenseive intensity and skill. I think JKidd would be the MVP if you look at both sides of the ball.
Both Steve Nash and Amare Stoudamire, All Stars both, were held scoreless for the entire game, taking a seat in that third quarter as wave after wave of Nets made just about every conceivable shot, including four straight dunks that effectively announced the end of this one.

Memphis is good but they're not THAT good. I haven't watched them much, but I think stopping Mike Miller is a key. We should win especially since we're at home, and I'll be going( and I'm 4-0 in games I've gone to).
Good! You'll be the secret-weapon good-luck charm!

Krstic will not be able to handle Gasol. Krstic will pick up fouls way too quick, only Collins will be able to effectively contain him.
That's a rebuttable presumption. Krstic is not taking himself out of games with silly fouls now. He's playing more within himself. Moreover the refs are according more respect to his game ... though he doesn't get all the fouls called for him that he deserves.

Further, I doubt that Collins can keep up with Gasol either. There has to be a team consensus on how to slow Gasol and shut-down Miller and Jones. Maybe RJ and Vince sledgehammer the ball when it's in Gasol's hands?

Getting out on Miller on the perimeter and containing Gasol as much as possible is key.
