He's done well lately, but let's not declare ANYTHING until he's put a string of these games together for maybe eight or nine games (or however many games are left this season). Remember the Boston game where everyone was like, "Martell has ARRIVED!!!"? Yeah, let's not get carried away just yet.
Yep yep I agree. The one thing that might be nice here at the end of the season is we have got several excellent games from Bassy showing that he might be ready to take it to the next level, and we got some solid play from Jack before the last 2 games, so maybe those 2 are coming along. Now if we can just get some front line players who actually battle in the paint and finish, and the team will start to turn around.
Earlier in the year I used to cringe whenever Telfair got the ball. I just knew he was going to throw it away or jack up a ridiculous shot. Now, however, I'm starting to feel good when the ball is in his hands. He's got a much better understanding of how to move the ball around or take it to the hoop. It's really nice to see his progress.
Yea, with a good off season next season might be special for him.

Thank god. No more of this Steve Blake bull****. Telfair woulda had about 8-9 assists if Webster had hit those last two late 3-pointers. Still, he was making some sick moves and making Ridnour look retarded like he always does to him.

you'd be surprised how often that happens. I don't know about Luke. Today he was AWFUL....Steve Blake looked more favorable as a starting PG compared to Luke. Earl is no stud, but I wouldn't be disappointed if he wins the starting nod next season. I'm just not sold on Luke.
Jay Bilas has been proven right - Ridnour still can't guard a chair.

Remember we all thought that this season as well. He got injured and Nate did what you are never supposed to do in taking away someones starting spot beause of injury.
Earlier this season I posted comments indicating that I wasn't sure we had the next Steve Nash or the next Charlie Ward.

I have been really pleasantly surprised by the way Telfair has been playing lately. It's almost like someone threw a light switch on or something. They guy is a different player. The way he passes and plays the game really, really does remind me of a young developing Steve Nash. I don't know if he'll get to that level but I would have to upgrade my prediction well beyond the Charlie Ward's of the league at this point.

My only concern is his insistence that we not bring back all three point guards. I disagree with that viewpoint simply due to the likelihood of injuries. However if someone has to go, I would have to say Steve Blake. He's the oldest and this team is young (not that he is old by any stretch). He probably has good value out in the market. I really like him and would prefer we find a way to keep all three but if one reallly has to go...

I just hope he keeps it rolling. It sure would be nice to end this season with at least one solid player known on the team.

This thread could have been made when he was in high school. It could have been made right after the draft. It could have been made this time last year.

He's the "truth". He makes people "look retarded". He's "sick".

Unfortunately, he's still not very good.

Hopefully he can continue to improve and live up to some of the hype that so many fans seem so eager to pile on him at the drop of a hat.

I disagree. If anything the point guards are not the weak link on this team, in fact the PG positions are one of the only positions where Portland gets a good contribution each night, be it Telfair, Jack or Blake playing. If you look at the stats the 3 of them pile up per game as combined PG, they have been very productive. The only reason one of them doesn't have a good stat line is because they have to split up so much time between the 3. Now that being said, Sebastian has been one of the few bright spots on the team lately. He has been attacking, passing the ball well and getting up in players faces defensively. He could have easily had more assist had players like Viktor, Martell and Leanard would finish plays that should be gimme's.

The team may not be very good, but Sebastian is turning out just fine. There is a difference.

Yes. Telfair is doing so well that he's been unable to keep a starting job ahead of a rookie PG with an injured ankle and a guy that couldn't earn regular minutes on his previous lottery team.

How silly of me. I must have looked at Telfair's 38.8% FG shooting and thought that, when coupled with his 24 minutes a game, he must not be playing that well.

But hey: he made a sick pass and he would have more assists if people made three pointers. So he must be the truth, right?

I think your knee-jerk response to any optimism about basketball is usually well-founded, but in this case they might have a point.

He's been shooting 45.4% from the field and 34.2% from the field since the beginning of March.

9.4 points per game in 22 min. per game in the same span. And his turnovers are down.

You could make the case that he still sucks. But he's getting better.
