Shaq's still blaming the refs...

"I'm not worried about the Nets catching us for the second place in the East," said O'Neal, who scored 18 points despite being limited by foul trouble. "Come playoffs, it's going to be a different game, and hopefully, the refs let us play and let the players decide."

Seriously...

We lost an early game because of the refs, but I don't remember that our players were out there blaming the referees. Plus Shaq already gets the benefits of a lot of doubt, and they let him stay in for the entire 4th quarter with 5 fouls!

Does anyone think that there will be a time when Shaq stops talking about the "real" games and give the Nets some respect?

Welcome to the board, sadly I doubt Shaq will ever give the nets some respect. Well maybe after they lose a series to the nets
did you expect something different? of course he is going to blame the refs because things didnt go his way. hes trying to work the refs so he gets more calls his way.

if the nets beat the heat in the playoffs, shaq will say 'we got lucky' because maybe he wasnt fully healthy or the refs were horrible and gave us games. this is just apart of what shaq does after a loss or after someone says something negative about him. he has to talk to the media to try to prove he is a tough guy and will always get the last word. that is the part of shaq i hate because he acts like a high schooler.

I was waiting for this post to come up. I read up on the Nets articles everyday and hearing Shaq's comments are ridiculous. I have slowly lost respect for him as a professional. I'm beginning to think his cockiness is the sole destroyer of the Laker dynasty. I'd like to remind the board of last season's 1st round playoffs where NJ was swept by Miami. Shaq made comments calling Lawrence Frank a whiner,

Quote taken from NY Times.com 5/2/2005
"'O'Neal, who on Saturday warned Frank not to "wake me up," left this parting shot Sunday: "I wish they'd go to a manly tactic. No whining. When he whined, that's when I changed his name to Laura Frank."'

Now 2006 when the Nets beat the Heat, Shaq runs his mouth even more.

Quote taken from NorthJersey.com 4/03/06 AL IANNAZZONE
"When asked if the Nets are in the same class as the Pistons and Heat, Shaq said: "If they keep getting help like that, then yeah. That was the most ridiculous game I've ever been a part of. When you've got a guy like Stu Jackson at the top, it shows why those referees are the way they are. It starts at the top."

Shaq can expect a fine for his remarks."

In closing, Shaq is unprofessional and a hypocrite. Great role model for our young ones. I'd love to see the Nets take Shaq and the Heat down in the 2006 playoffs. See what he says then.

awsome find. i bet if you told shaq to read his quote from last year and his quote from the other day he would give some type of excuse to try and 'save' himself instead of manning up. but this has been shaq. he always wants to be the top dog and he says he respects people, but you know half the time he is just saying that so he looks good. if shaq isnt being funny, then he is negative. yet people still love shaq no matter what, i dont get it. i liked the young shaq, not this one.

Funny Shaq calls out L. Frank calling him "Laura" for a minor complaint about officiating, but when shaq loses AGAIN, its all the refs fault and its not fair..... who sounds like a woman now?

Shaquita just keeps blabbing.
 Good one. I would love to hear Frank say that to the media. I think he would actually earn some respect from Shaquita if he did.

Didn't Frank tell the refs to "F off" after that first miami game and get fined $25,000 ?

Yup. Nothing done to Shaq yet huh? Do they publicize all fines?
