According to ESPN Intelligence Reports Peja can opt out of his contract next year, and he WILL.

Do you think minnesota will have a chance? As soon as I read that I got really excited...
is it possible?!

not realistically...
theres no way we can sign him, whether he opts out or not is really of no effect to us.
the only option is a trade, obviously if he opts out it would be a sign and trade with the pacers.
he wouldnt be a bad addition to the squad next to KG, i personally cant stand him so i wouldnt want it but i can see the positives.

wolves:
Banks
mccants
Peja
KG
Blount

pacers:
Tinsley
Jackson
R. Davis
JO
Harrison

obviously it would be more than just ricky for peja, but i would assume if we were going to trade for him ricky would have to be part of the deal.

Soooo....Minnesota loses Wally one year and signs Peja the next. Sixes in my book--except Wally actually defends...a little bit.

If he can get along with Garnett, though, he might be worth having. He's that late-game shooter.

yea i dont like peja..

but at this point.. i want KG to have any help possible.
Peja could be the best replacement for Wally. But I think we should give Ricky more time to get used to the new enivornment with his new coach, mates, and place. Look at his FG%, it is just horrid. Then, we need at least an athletic player and faster tempo for the team.

this is true, and i like ricky as a player.... but he isnt a second option on a high quality team, and to get someone on this squad who could be it would more than likely require packaging ricky ( unless we could rip off a team like the knicks )
He's that late-game shooter.
Excuse me?? Stojakovic is one of the most unclutch, if not the most, in the NBA.

You know, you're right. Once upon a time in Sacramento--years back--Peja was clutch, but that's been a long time ago. My bad.

My take is Peja and Wally are pretty much the same player. They are great shooters but not game changers. We traded Wally to get a slasher, and we should keep Ricky and go elsewhere this offseason. The only way I'd take him is if he goes Free Agent and signs on for the Mid Level Exception.

That won't happen. Peja can still command more than that.

Exactly, he would not go for that kind of $$$. He thinks he is more worth than that.
