With hindsight being 20/20, should the Jets have started Tebow at some point for the remainder of the season?

As a Jets fan...Yes. Sanchez i think needed a break from getting blame for everything that happen to that team even though the guy had no weapons at all around him. They should have atleast gave Tebow a shot in 1 or 2 games and saw what happened

But seriously Jets weapons where CFL level bad.

I think its pretty damning evidence of how truly bad tebow is when a team struggling as bad as the jets were with a terrible mark sanchez would bypass tebow and go with mcelroy.. that and the fact that they really didnt need the media circus at that point in time either. I think timmy will be out of the nfl by 2014.

Problem with starting Tebow is you have to tailor your offense like McCoy and Broncos did to fit him along with having a regular offense for Sanchez, etc. Jets seemingly wanted nothing to do with that and makes their trade for him even worse.

the jets shouldnt have signed him in the first pplace - they are a train wreck and this outcome was obvious and probably inevitable in august

I think that speaks more about the Jets front office than it does Tim Tebow in all honesty. The dude won a bunch of games, including a playoff game, during his time starting. They would have been better off starting Tebow over Greg and changing the offense, given the fact they basically had zero weapons. At that point going with the power running game with Tebow seemed like an obvious choice, they were just stubborn and apparently didn't like Tebow. I'm not saying the guy is a stud, or should be a starter somewhere. But the Jets fiasco is more on the Jets than on Tebow from my perspective.

No doubt that with the way their qb situation was going into the season the last person they should have brought in if they wanted to avoid dram was tebow. I also agree that things couldnt have been any worse with tebow being in there.. hell they could have run wildcat 70 times a game with tebow and they may have been better off. I still think Tebow is one of the most overrated players in the history of the nfl, but the guy is a good athlete and could help out an offense if he is utilized properly

Let's be honest with ourselves here, who overrates him? I don't think anybody views him as a dominant NFL quarterback, or as a high quality passer. He's a player with a specific skillset, and he proved to be useful when he's on the field. I don't know that he's overrated by anybody, he's just a polarizing person. Either you like him or you don't like him, but no matter what side you're on you don't think he's Aaron Rodgers.

But that's exactly my point, they had a strong offensive line (at times) and at least a capable running back stable. Not to mention a solid TE, they could have ran the power running game and been at least somewhat productive on offense. I don't know that it would have mattered either way, but they weren't bad enough to get a dominant pick so might as well try to win a few more games for the fans (not to mention a potential playoff birth).

I just really believe tebow should never throw another pass in the nfl, he should start making the transition to tight end before he runs out of chances

What makes people think he can play TE? Has he shown any blocking prowess or catching ability? He's big for a QB, but he isn't particularly big for a TE.

he gains 15 pounds and he is the perfect size for a downfield threat tight end, he is extremely strong too, i think he is a good enough athlete to make the transition, and with his awful reputation as a asser i think he really should consider doing something to try and stick in the league before its too late

little blurb from rotoworld...gotta be true because its the Jets

The Newark Star-Ledger reports the Jets have had "some very exploratory, informal discussions" regarding ex-Raiders QB JaMarcus Russell.

After Alex Smith leaves in free agency this offseason, why wouldn't the 49ers bring in Tebow to back up Kaepernick?

Tebow played a series vs. the Titans, either in a preseason or reg. season game. Had a play where he threw across the body and right into a defender's chest. No WRs around. Don't think he played QB again.

They put him in at TE, and Sanchez nailed him in the back of the head on a pass play.

I'd like to see him in AZ. For fun.
