He's been suspended indefinitely and has had quite a poor season so far, but there's no denying he has talent. I wouldn't be surprised if the Kings want to get rid of him badly, and that the price is low. Is this someone you want to take a chance with and hope the positive environment on our team changes him, or is it not even worth losing an asset for him?

Im not a bulls fan or anything, and i am definitely not a Noah fan, but i would take Noah over Cousins 6 days a week and twice on sunday.. unless you can get Cousins for Boozer (and thats not going to happen) i think you avoid this guy like the plague

Yeah I was thinking more if the Kings were letting him go on the cheap and they'd do something like Rip+Bobcats pick for Cousins, but I'm not even sure I would do it because I rather use the pick in a K-Love deal than take a chance on Cousins. If Cousins doesn't work out, there's likely no way he is of any value in another trade, while if the Bobcats pick doesn't end up being top 10 or anything, it's still an additional prospect who will have some kind of value in a move.

If you would have asked me a season or 2 ago, I would have said hell yes, but The guy has problems that I think go far beyond just being a knuckle head or immaturity. I really think the guy suffers from some personality disorder. He is way more talented than Noah and if he ever got his stuff together he would take a team very far, but I just don't think hes capable of being a professional in this league. What separates him from guys like Rasheed Wallace and Spreewel is that these two guys learned how maximize their on court talent. When Cousins gets a bad foul called on him, his game collapses, when the coach yells at him he shuts down, when he feels like his teammates don't have his back, he tries to fight them... The guy is going to be out of the league. I think the Bulls are a great locker room but if a players coach like John Calipari could not get Cousins to act like an adult, I doubt a stern guy like Thibs who DEMANDS certain responsibilities out of a player, can.

It drives me crazy that guys like Cousins and Eddy Curry just don't have the mentality to succeed in this league, especially when they have ALL THE TALENT to be perennial all stars and legit NBA forces of nature. Curry's post moves coming out of FREAKING HIGH SCHOOL were a thing of beauty, but the guy did not love Basketball. Cousins may love basketball, but the guy just fails at the cerebral part of the game. If Cousins played the game with pace or with the same kind of quiet yet cool demeanor that Duncan plays the game, he would be kicking ass.

Its actually kind of sad.

Calipari did keep him in line pretty much, or at least there was nothing public that was too dramatic. Of course Kentucky was winning and John Wall did a decent job of getting him the ball. Only way you take him is if it's fire sale and if you are in a position where the risk can be justified. I don't think the Bulls or anyone with a really good team could justify the risk that he'd ruin your team.

Type of team that could justify the risk would probably some team that was like one piece away from being pretty good. You'd have to bad enough that you had very little to lose and good enough that adding a well behaved Cousins would turn you into a fairly good team.

Actually there where plenty of times when it looked on TV like Calipari and Cousins were in a shouting match near the bench. You also have to remember that Calipari only had him 1 year and it dint really sound like Calipari wanted him back
Cousins said Calipari practically ordered him to enter the draft.

"He told me it's my time to go," Cousins said, then nodded his head vigorously later when a reporter asked if Calipari "pushed" him out.
I don't know what Cousins issue is behind the scenes but apparently hes quite odd and I have to believe that everything is just not right in his head.

The only thing I would give up for him right now, is a late round first round pick. Hes just way too unpredictable to risk anything of any real value, I think every team feels that way, even the Kings.

Yeah this goes way past maturity. He has some type of mental illness he needs to take care of. Just look at how much better Brandon Marshall has been since admitting he had a problem and taking care of it.

I wouldn't want Cousins on my roster if the Kings gave him to us for free.

This is not a case of someone who needs a change in scenery. This guy is a cancer to any squad. He has talent, yes, but even that isn't crazy high. It would be one thing if the kid was an unbelievable talent, but he's not. Absolutely not worth any price.

I've said this for the last two years when this topic has been brought up. I hope he does get traded so my point can be proven that he will fail and bring others down regardless of where he plays.

in truth i think the bulls need to go for it.

my take on cousins is that he's an a-hole , and its made worse by being in a crap situation for a perennial loser, a lot of players cant play in losing situations and they range from the crazy( ron artest) to guys who are just fine and even great in winning situations (rip hamilton)

for the sake of chemistry i wouldn't trade noah and obviously not rose , but basically everyone else is very replacable and my preference would be to send out boozer which the kings wouldn't want.

perhaps a 3 way deal with the wizards based around boozer -nene and cousins to help all 3 teams , the kings need so professionalism in the worst way and nene is a good player who plays both offense and defense....the wizards need more scoring and the bulls if they are to challenge the heat are going to need more talent , and cousins certainly has that.

being on a winning team with more structure i think would help demarcus a lot.

My take exactly...this is how I've felt since the guy came into the league.

And also remember, he is going to be up for a contract extension after next season. A big man with his talent is going to cost alot of money even in spite of bad attitude and inconsistent production.

Why wouldn't you go for it, if the price is right? Boozer and a pick for Cousins and a couple of bad contracts? I would jump on that in a heart beat. We have been searching for that 2nd star. He is not there yet, but we don't have many options to obtain one.
