Is he on anyone's summer league roster? I haven't heard anything about him, and he's an UFA.

He hasn't really proved anything at all yet, but he could be one of the most exciting players in the league.

In my opinion, I think a team like Denver would be a perfect fit for him. They don't have any good PGs, and they'll probably finish with an awful record this year. A player like Rafer can at least keep some fans in the seats while they rebuild... and if he ever becomes a solid pointguard, that's just a bonus.

What is Skip to my Lou's real name? Sorry if I'm being stupid, but I really don't know.

Yea, he was.. but he really never got any playing time.

He's much better known from playing streetball than from playing with the Bucks. If you've never done it before, watch some of the AND1 tapes he's been in.

Rafer Alston got screwed by George Karl. Alston worked so hard on his jumpshot and to become the kind of point guard Karl wanted and Karl gave him only a few games before he decided he didn't like Alston. I think Alston never got comfortable on this team because it's intimidating trying to earn minutes on a team so loaded on the perimeter. He's got more quickness than he knows what to do with which gets him into trouble sometimes and his shooting is steadily improving. He makes some nice passes and is super quick on defense.

I disagree. The Clippers have/should have aspirations of winning this year... and besides that, they already have Dooling under contract, and are going to bring over Jaric, making it very unlikely they'll sign a pointguard.

I think Alston needs a no-pressure situation, where he can get some minutes, to show everyone what type of player he is.

I agree. He needs a coach who is going to let him loose and let him do his own thing and find a comfort zone. Rafer Alston isn't the kind of player that's going to thrive with a coach constantly on his case. Alston is a playmaker and with that comes mistakes so whoever his coach is is going to have to accept that he's going to make mistakes now in his first few years in the league.

Also, I've heard that the Cavs are interested in him but might not be anymore since they drafted Wagner.

with the opportunities he has seen in milwaukee, hes put up pretty decent numbers. as many of you know, george karl doesnt like flash. alston needs a change of scenery by signing with another team.

George told Alston to take the playground out of his game. Alston needs to be allowed to create for his teammates. That's when he's most affective. He can take anybody in the league one on one, draw help, and then dish to the open man (sounds nice on a team like Milwaukee with so many good jumpshooters but George doesn't see it that way)

ESPNInsider said that Rafer in on New Jerseys wish list....I think him backing up Kidd could be a good fit

Byron Scott is one of the more laid back coaches in the league...and he could learn a lot from the ultimate playmaker in Jason Kidd.

i agree, i think Skip2MyLou could come off the bench in New Jersey and provide a real punch b/c of his insane-quickness...

altho alot of people think he is way better than he is b/c he can do some fancy tricks... i think the AND1 mixtape editors are really good at making him not look bad...

peace

Sure And1 makes him look good, but he is a great player. Sam Cassel says taht Rafer kills him EVERY DAY in practice. I think he needs to go to a team where he will split the playing time at the point and not be pressured to win. I think a lottery team could give him about 20 minutes, a lot of room to run, and a few good finishers, and watch him flower in front of them.

New Jersey would be good because he would have zero pressure backing up Kidd and he has some guys on that team that can run with him(Martin, Kittles, Jefferson). I think his best chance at minutes is in Golden Stae and Denver. Hell, he could be a star in Denver. I wouldn't be mad if he was a Laker or a Clipper..I just can't see Phil Jackson putting up with a single skip......
