Tim Thomas
SF -- Chicago Bulls

Bench

Let former Nets forward Kenyon Martin describe the Bulls' new forward: "If you take a poll around the league and ask people who they want on their team, they're not going to say Tim Thomas." True, Martin made his observation amid the heat of a Nets-Knicks playoff series in 2004 after Thomas, then with New York, had called Martin a "fugazy" (slang for fake). Still, the fact that none of Thomas' teammates came to his defense after he had been flagrantly fouled in a game the night before Martin's comments spoke volumes. Seemingly on the cusp of stardom since his NBA debut in 1997, Thomas was part of the Eddy Curry trade, meaning Bulls fans will be the latest to witness what $13.9 million buys in the NBA nowadays – frustration.
Jalen Rose
SG -- Toronto Raptors

Bench

In building a well-rounded title contender, the Pacers' brain trust has made nary a bad move. One of the few exceptions was signing Rose to a seven-year, $93 million deal in 2000 (a deal they smartly shipped off to the Chicago Bulls a season later for Ron Artest and Brad Miller). Rose, now a Raptor, has made a career out of playing the hired gun, imported by teams so desperate for additional offense that they were willing to hide their eyes at his statue-like defense. Those teams also share a willingness to unload Rose and his salary-cap choking contract at the first nibble.
