Who is the best NBA prospect? Why?

They'll both play in the league but they'll both be bench players. Salim with be a Juan Dixon type off the bench. Redick will be a shooter off the bench. People spend enough time argueing who is the better superstar so probably not worth the time discussing who'll be better bench players.

Redick, as much as people like to hate on his game, he has actually been quite good this season. Hes not the one dimensional catch and shoot player he was last season. Salim is a better pure shooter, but Redick in general is a better scorer and defender.

I think Salim takes home better scorer and defender. Redick can make a better case for scorer rather then defender.

Salim has been named Arizona's best defender the past 2 or 3 seasons. Not to mention Salim has much more athletic ability then JJ. JJ couldnt guard a chair the previous two seasons. He has gotten better, but no way is he a better defender then Salim.

I don't think either will be a solid starter in the NBA; they'll likely come off the bench. That said, the question is which is the better roleplayer. In terms of that, I think Salim is the better specialist. I think he is a more dangerous shooter/scorer and better defender. However, another year could make JJ a better overall prospect. Right now, I would take Salim.

This is false. JJ has been a good defender throughout his Duke career.

I actually think IF Phil comes back, Salim would be an ideal PG for that offense.

First of all, I'm not an Arizona fan so I don't see them play too often. But from what I've seen, Stoudamire's extremely underrated as a defender because so much hype goes towards his shooting. Reddick's not a bad defender, but Salim is considerably better in my opinion.

Stoudamire's attitude problems might hold him back. He has made great strides this year but I like Reddick better. Reddick is a better scorer and a better defender (although both of them play average defense at best).

Given the Lakers draft position (Miami's pick at the bottom), players available, and team needs, that seems like the logical choice for them.

Redick can create his own shot too. He can put the ball on the floor, take it to the hole, he can curl off a screen or shoot off the dribble all the way out to NBA 3 pt range, he moves exceptionally well without the ball, and he is not a bad passer either.

Salim isn't the better shooter, he's shot the lights out this year, but JJ's stroke is just the prettiest thing in the basketball world. And I think it's important to say that Salim's shots aren't anywhere near as difficult as JJ's. Half of Redick's shots this year have been off balanced nba range catch and shoots because Duke has needed him to just shoot and shoot and shoot this year. Salim has the NBA range, but his shots have been easier and so his percentage is higher.

Id guess the Top would be Salim for the higher shooting percentage from beyond the arc. According to this chart of yours, even though Reddick got more points/ect that's because he plays more minutes. After seeing both plays, I have to say that they both shoot extremely well for college three range. I'd pick Salim over reddick for his ball handling skills.

After watching the Duke game yesterday Reddick reminds very much of Jeff Hornacek.

Reddick was hitting the pro 3, driving and dishing and made a couple of very nice floaters in the lane. He may not be able to make the acrobatic shots like Horny but his game is very similar.
