I'll be attending the Summer games on Fri, Sun, and Mon and will have a lengthy report following each game.

What I'd like to know now is what I should be paying particularly close attention to.

Here's what I've come-up with so far:

- The two-point back-court of JWill and JCraw.
- The progress of the twin towers (saw both of them play in last years Rocky Mountian Review games and was moderately impressed. both showed great athleticism and ability to block shots, but not much else. seeing TyChandler air ball a 3-pointer by at least a foot was the low-light of the evening. And it was in warmups! ).
- Hassell at the 2 vs Craw at the 2.
- seeing the starting unit run the break
- starting line-ups (JWill off the bench, or Craw at the 2??)
- ballhandling/shooting ability of Chandler
- intensity of Curry

And body language. I try to read into how the players interact with one another. Last year it was clear that Curry and Chandler had a close bond. This year, I'll be watching JWIll and JCraw's interactions closely.

Am I missing anything?

- Watch to see how Roger Mason, Jr. runs the team at the point
- Pay attention to the rebounding and defense of the Towers
- See if J-Will and Crawford are penetrating
- Anything on Dali
- Watch Preston Shumpert closely; check his defense

I'm sure there is much more to look for, but these are a few......

I am curious if they run the triangle.

I would think not and mostly focus on D and transition game.

Baxter

- See if Baxter even has a remote chance to make the team
- Check Jay's ability to actually run the point (distribution, penetration and dish), also see if he still has that range on his threes that I love.
:p

Thanks

OOH! OOH! Me Next!

Fast break fundamentals! Ball to the middle, lanes filled, D to O transition, and most importantly OUTLET PASSES!!!

- Crawford's defense. Is he a defensive liability?
- Jay Williams's defense. Is he strong enough to not get posted up by bigger guards, and quick enough to stick to his man?
- Roger Mason Jr.'s defense. If he shows up strong on D, Cartwright will want to keep him for sure.
- Norm Richardson's anything. Does he have a shot at the team?
- And finally, free throw shooting all around. Are the players conscious of getting to the line? Do they shoot a good percentage?

Thank you SUS. You are our eyes and ears.

lay it on me...

:) Man, I can't wait for these games! I'll make note of all the points mentioned above and attempt to address as many as I can. Stats and stuff should be posted somewhere on the internet right ? I hope I don't need to keep track of that kind of stuff. Man, I'm so excited. I'll ask for more questions between games and following reports so we can kind of make this an interactive field reporting type thing. You guys are the mother base, and I'm the field operative. :) This is going to be fun! I'll try to get some good photos too.
