I see Q-PAC as the surprise of the MAAC. Physical rebounding team with some good guards. Should be top 4. Surprise disappointment will be Iona. No mo Momo sends them to Mid Pack

I can see how people think that Iona can continue their success of 2 NCAA bids, but the loss of Momo is much bigger than people think. Manhattan and Canisius are clear favorites. Canisius returns a lot and the addition of Chris Perez will pick up the scoring loss of Washington and Sosa. Perez will surprise a lot of people.

Other surprise teams are Marist and Fairfield. New coach at Marist will instill some defensive discipline and they have good offensive balance. I like Fairfields toughness and coaching, and they have a lot of talented young guards. Watch them come February.

Canisius is not a great defensive team, but Billy Baron is a player..... the best in the MAAC this year. When he graduates, down goes Canisius.

How did Billy Baron do at Rhode Island, and Virginia before that.

Billy's older brother was a stud at URI. Billy was good by A-10 standards bordering on 3rd team all-conference... I'm not sure why Billy left UVA in the first place. Actually, I'm not even clear on why he went to UVA to begin with...
